African magic 2000 - A truly momentous day for Rigobert Song, who captained Cameroon to the African Cup of Nations, scoring the decisive penalty in the shoot-out in the Final against host nation Nigeria in Lagos after the game had ended 2-2 after extra-time. This was happening at the same time as we won at Highbury in the League for the final time, hanging on after Titi Camara’s strike to beat Arsenal 1-0. 2004 - Future red Momo Sissoko played for Mali as they lost their Third-place Play-off 2-1 to Nigeria in the same competition in Tunisia. Supersub’s treble 1980 - David Johnson missed our trip to Norwich City after receiving four stitches to a head wound acquired on international duty, while Graeme Souness was suspended, which meant that Bob Paisley made his first changes to the reds side for seventeen games.
