    Glory in Rome again 1984 - We clinched the European Cup for a fourth time, becoming the first English side to complete a treble, having already claimed the title and League Cup that season. Phil Neal put us ahead after a quarter of an hour with a scrappy goal, but Roberto Pruzzo headed an equaliser for Roma before half-time.     The greatest performance ever 1988 - We trounced Nottingham Forest 5-0, just four days after we had beaten them 2-1 in the FA Cup Semi-final. It was a stunning display that the legendary Tom Finney described as “the greatest performance ever”.     Walsh walks in 1984 - Paul Walsh signed from Luton Town for £700,000. He went on to nab 37 goals in 112 reds games, helping us to the League title in 1986, although he missed the run-in due to ruptured ankle ligaments.     Death of a legend 2001 - Legendary forward Billy Liddell died in Liverpool of Alzheimer’s disease. He joined the reds in July 1938 while still only sixteen, and left the club 23 years later, having struck 228 times in 534 games.     Happy birthday Ronnie 1934 - Reds stalwart Ronnie Moran was born in Crosby. He spent 49 years at Anfield, making 379 senior appearances and bagging seventeen goals. He helped us to win the Second Division in 1963 and the League title the following year, before joining the coaching staff.
