Glory in Rome again 1984 - We clinched the European Cup for a fourth time, becoming the first English side to complete a treble, having already claimed the title and League Cup that season. Phil Neal put us ahead after a quarter of an hour with a scrappy goal, but Roberto Pruzzo headed an equaliser for Roma before half-time. The game ended 1-1 after extra-time, and so the cup was to be decided with a penalty shoot-out. Steve Nicol missed our first kick, but his failure was matched by two Italians before Bruce Grobbelaar’s wobbly legs helped put off a third kicker, Ciccio Graziani. Alan Kenne

Willkommen Jürgen 2015 - Jürgen Klopp was appointed reds boss following the sacking of Brendan Rodgers. He has so far led us to UEFA Champions League glory in Madrid, our first League title in thirty years, FIFA Club World cup and UEFA Super Cup as well as three other cup finals, generating a great rapport with the crowd. On the same day, the departures of Chris Davies, Glen Driscoll and Sean O’Driscoll from the backroom staff were all announced. All sitting comfortably 1994 - Neil Ruddock scored the first goal in front of the new all-seater Kop, as we beat Aston Villa 3-2, with Robbi

The reds start out 1892 - We played our first ever competitive fixture, trouncing Higher Walton 8-0 in a Lancashire League fixture at Anfield, in front of a crowd of just 200. John Smith, Joe McQue and James Cameron all netted braces, with Malcolm McVean and John McBride also notching. West Derby-born Joe Pearson was the only non-Scot in this ‘Team of the Macs’. 1898 - We stepped out in red for the first time, as we beat The Wednesday 4-0 at Anfield, with centre-half Alex Raisbeck making his debut. We had played in blue and white quartered shirts until then. Left-half Bill Goldie bagged

Adam heads north 2014 - Adam Lallana signed from Southampton for an initial £23m, becoming our second most expensive signing to date. He has so far struck 22 times in 178 reds games, coming off the bench as we claimed the FIFA Club World Cup, while also being in the matchday squads as we claimed the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup last year, and playing an important role as we claimed our nineteenth League title last month. Walsh walks in 1984 - Paul Walsh signed from Luton Town for £700,000. He went on to nab 37 goals in 112 reds games, helping us to the League title in 1986, although he missed the run-in due to ruptured ankle ligaments. He left Anfield to sign for Tottenham Hotspur for £500,000 in February 1988. 1914 - Inside-right Fred Pagnam joined from Blackpool. He struck an astonishing thirty times in just 39 reds games, moving to Arsenal in October 1919. He later had a successful managerial career with Watford and the Turkish national side, amongst others. Souey’s debut 1978 - Graeme Souness made his reds bow as a David Johnson goal gave us victory at West Bromwich Albion. 1933 - We also travelled to the Baggies, losing 2-0 in our FA Cup Third Round tie. Billy Richardson bagged one of his nine goals against the reds, with Stan Wood netting the first of his five past us. Heading to Wembley 1981 – Ray Kennedy netted the only goal of the first leg of our League Cup Semi-final after a contested free-kick late on at a wet and windy Maine Road, with Manchester City’s Kevin Reeves earlier having a strike ruled out for an apparent handball.
