    Hat-tricks all round 2002 - Michael Owen bagged a treble as we won 3-0 at Manchester City. It was our 400th Premier League match, and Steven Gerrard made his 150th reds appearance in the game. 1895 - George Allan scored four goals in our 5-1 Second Division defeat of Burslem Port Vale at Anfield, with David Hannah netting the other. Full-back Archie Goldie made his reds bow in this game. 2003 - Kevin Lisbie bagged a treble for Charlton Athletic as we lost 3-2 at The Valley, with Steven Gerrard playing his 200th reds game.     Four apiece 1986 - Steve McMahon missed a penalty but struck four goals as we recorded the equal biggest ever win in the League Cup, thumping Fulham 10-0. Ian Rush and John Wark both netted braces with the other goals coming from Ronnie Whelan and Steve Nicol, while Rush also struck the post twice.     The greatest performance ever 1988 - We trounced Nottingham Forest 5-0, just four days after we had beaten them 2-1 in the FA Cup Semi-final. It was a stunning display that the legendary Tom Finney described as “the greatest performance ever”.
