Jimmy’s treble 1975 - Jimmy Case scored a hat-trick as we beat Polish side Slask Wroclaw 3-0 at Anfield in our UEFA Cup Third Round second leg tie, with Ray Clemence a virtual spectator, to progress 5-1 on aggregate on our way to claiming the trophy for the second time. 3,000 up 1949 - Willie Fagan struck our 3,000th League goal as we lost 3-2 at Huddersfield Town, with Ken Brierley also on target. Treble from the spot 1986 - Jan Mølby scored a hat-trick of penalties at Anfield past ex-red Steve Ogrizovic in our 3-1 League Cup Fourth Round replay defeat of Coventry City. This is reputedly the first reds game that current skipper Steven Gerrard attended. Rafa’s record 2008 - Steven Gerrard headed the only goal of the game as we entertained Olympique de Marseille in a Champions League group game. This was Rafael Benítez’s 66th European game in charge, overtaking Bob Paisley’s club record. Happy birthdays 1915 - Post-war keeper Cyril Sidlow was born in Colwyn Bay in North Wa

Mickey’s treble 1997 - Michael Owen scored his first reds hat-trick as we beat Grimsby Town 3-0 at Anfield in a League Cup Fourth Round tie. Oggy signs on 1977 - Steve Ogrizovic signed from Chesterfield for £70,000. He only made five first-team starts in five years at Anfield as understudy to Ray Clemence, sitting on the bench on a further 27 occasions. He had more luck at Coventry City, winning the FA Cup with them in 1987 and making more than 500 League appearances. Igor Bišcan wrapped it up 2004 - We won a game of two halves at Craven Cottage. The reds were dismal in a first half that saw a Luis Boa Morte brace put Fulham 2-0 up. We drew level after the break thanks to a Zat Knight own goal and a close-range Milan Baroš strike, before Josemi was sent off following a second caution. Xabi Alonso, who had replaced the hapless Salif Diao at half time, then bagged his first reds goal, with the 4-2 win completed by Igor Bišcan’s glorious strike, his first League goal. All together now, “2-0 down, 4-2 up, Igor Bišcan wrapped it up.” First win in the Ukra

Completing another treble 2001 - We clinched the third leg of our cup treble, beating Deportivo Alavés 5-4 after a pulsating match in Dortmund. Markus Babbel and Steven Gerrard put us 2-0 up after a quarter of an hour, with the German grabbing his sixth and final reds goal. Ivan Alonso pulled one back before a Gary McAllister penalty restored our two-goal cushion before half-time. After the break, two goals from Javi Moreno levelled the match, before Robbie Fowler scored his fiftieth cup goal to regain the lead. Jordi Cruyff sent the Final into extra-time, before a golden own-goal from Delfi

One-nil down, two-one up 2001 - Michael Owen won the cup! A glorious day in our recent history saw us clinch the FA Cup in Cardiff, the second leg of the treble, despite going behind to a Freddie Ljungberg goal after surviving repeated Arsenal attacks, sometimes through dubious means! Two late, late Michael Owen goals won us the cup, and the Millennium Stadium was awash with overjoyed reds. This was the first time we had won an FA Cup Final while wearing an away kit.
