  1. Divock at the treble 2015 – Forward Divock Origi bagged a hat-trick, his first reds goals, as we thumped Southampton 6-1 in a League Cup Fifth Round tie on the south coast. Future red Sadio Mané had given the home side a very early lead but a brace from Daniel Sturridge put us ahead.   2. New bosses 1959 - Bill Shankly was appointed reds boss, with the intention that he would take over in the New Year. However, he was in place just thirteen days later. He had led Huddersfield Town to 49 wins in 129 League games in charge, but could not get them out of the Second Division.     Reds born 1946 - Brian Hall was born in Glasgow. He signed for the reds in July 1968 fresh from graduating university, and scored 21 goals in 224 games, helping us to claim a League title, UEFA Cup, FA Cup and FA Charity Shield.
