Jamie Carragher and Michael Owen featured for the reds. Setting records 1979 - Our 3-0 win at Leeds United was our thirtieth League victory of the season, one behind Tottenham Hotspur’s record from 1960/61. David Johnson bagged a brace either side of a Jimmy Case strike in a game originally postponed from two months earlier. We therefore ended the League season having only conceded sixteen goals in all, a record

Euro comeback 2019 – We entertained Barcelona in the second leg of our UEFA Champions League Semi-final, having lost the first meeting 3-0 and being without Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah due to injury. Divock Origi gave us an early lead, but we suffered another setback when left-back Andy Robertson had to be withdrawn at half time. However, substitute Gini Wijnaldum bagged a brace in a two-minute flurry before Origi completed a 4-0 rout from Trent Alexander-Arnold’s quickly taken corner. Forward Daniel Sturridge came on to make his 160th and last appearance for the club. Rush scored
