    George born 1891 - Reds boss George Kay was born in Manchester. He arrived at Anfield in August 1936 and led us to our first League title in 24 years in 1947, and the FA Cup Final three years later.     Aldo off 1989 - John Aldridge left for Real Sociedad for £1.1m after 63 goals in 104 reds games, to become their first non-Basque player. He was signed by ex-red John Toshack and struck 33 times in 63 games in two years before returning to Merseyside with Tranmere Rovers.     2,000 up 2004 - We hosted our 2,000th League game, with West Bromwich Albion on the receiving end of a 3-0 defeat. Steve Finnan scored his only reds goal while Luis García bagged the first of his thirty strikes, after Steven Gerrard had opened the scoring.     A great start for the knight 1959 - ‘Sir’ Roger Hunt scored on his reds debut as we beat Sc***horpe United 2-0 at Anfield, with Jimmy Melia bagging the other.     Death of a legend 2001 - Legendary forward Billy Liddell died in Liverpool of Alzheimer’s disease.
