    A treble treble 1946 - Jack Balmer scored a hat-trick in our 4-2 First Division defeat of Arsenal at Anfield, including a penalty, as we came from 2-1 down to cement our place at the top of the table. This was his third treble in consecutive games, becoming the third player in top-flight history to achieve this.     2,000 up 2004 - We hosted our 2,000th League game, with West Bromwich Albion on the receiving end of a 3-0 defeat.     In comes Spud 1997 - Danny Murphy arrived from Crewe Alexandra for an overall £3m fee. Spud was nearly on his way out early into his Anfield career, but later established himself as a vital squad member.     Cardiff glory once more 2006 - We claimed the FA Cup for the seventh time, in a game dubbed the ‘Gerrard Final’ after Steven Gerrard struck two stupendous shots.
