    Records in the League Cup 1994 - Ian Rush scored his sixteenth and final reds hat-trick in his 600th reds game as we won 3-1 at Blackburn Rovers in a Fourth Round tie. Chris Sutton’s late consolation was one of his seven strikes against the reds.     Derby spoils shared 1996 - Robbie Fowler headed us in front in the Anfield derby on the half-hour mark with his ninth goal in seven games, but Gary Speed nodded in a late equaliser. Steve McManaman was playing in his 106th consecutive reds game, but missed Wimbledon’s visit three days later. This game was postponed from a month earlier. A new stadium 1999 - We played our first official game at Sunderland’s new Stadium Of Light, as goals from Michael Owen and Patrik Berger gave us a 2-0 win. A win at the Bridge 2011 – We won 2-1 at Chelsea when Maxi Rodríguez opened the scoring.

    Le Boss taken ill 2001 - Gérard Houllier was admitted to Broadgreen Hospital with chest pains during our Anfield fixture with Leeds United. Thankfully he went on to make a full recovery. Future red Harry Kewell scored for the Yorkshire outfit, before Danny Murphy equalised, handing us our 600th Premiership point. The reds therefore became the third team, after Manchester United and Arsenal, to reach this milestone.     Willkommen Jürgen 2015 - Jürgen Klopp was appointed reds boss following the sacking of Brendan Rodgers. He has so far led us to UEFA Champions League glory in Madrid, our first League title in thirty years, FIFA Club World cup and UEFA Super Cup as well as three other cup finals, generating a great rapport with the crowd. On the same day, the departures of Chris Davies, Glen Driscoll and Sean O’Driscoll from the backroom staff were all announced.     Goalscoring debutants 1946 - Forward Cyril Done scored on his official reds debut as we were held 1-1 by Charlton Athletic at home. He had also scored in the previous first-class reds game in which he had played - seven years before, just before the outbreak of war when the season was cancelled.
