Terry Mac signs on 1974 – Terry McDermott signed from Newcastle United for £175,000. Ged in charge 1998 - Gérard Houllier took over as sole Manager, with Roy Evans leaving after four years in the hot-seat. Uncle Roy’s only trophy in charge had been the Coca Cola Cup in 1995, although he led us to four consecutive top four finishes in the League. Happy birthday Paddy 1973 - Patrik Berger was born in Prague. He struck 35 times in 196 reds games after his £3.25m capture from Ballspielverein Borussia 09 e.V. Dortmund in September 1996 following a successful Euro ‘96 with the Czech Republic, coming off the bench to help us claim the FA Cup, UEFA Cup and FA Charity Shield in 2001.
