Also weird when you think they finished 7 points ahead of us but a win for us in the Anfield match basically wipes that out. Arsenal were a really good side that season but also have to wonder whether having Houllier healthy and in charge all season if we'd have found those extra points.

Arsenal were a plain better side though. As evidenced by the fact that they won all 13 of their last league games that season. Literally impossible to catch once they went top.

I think we should focus less on United and refs and more on us winning penalties, us learning to dive, roll around and basically do what the other teams are doing, in comparison we look amateur. We don’t anticipate the contact we react and sometimes a hair too late and get f*** all, Mane’s last attempt comes to mind, a legit pen f***ed up because of that slight delay. f*** the throw in coach, get in someone who can teach us to be snide, diving, cheating c**** like the rest, I’m tired of all this “top of the fair play league” bulls***, f*** naivety and start rolling around.

The hypocrisy is staggering though. United players can even give interviews saying how they have learnt to dive properly to win pens and Salah (in particular) and Mane have been castigated by commentators and the press and get nothing from referees.

The thing is they do dive. But they also play for pens as well which is a morally iffy but completely legal thing to do. They just get the ball in the box and run at you and hope someone hangs a leg out to run into. Whereas us and City play wide and pass it around.

They go down when they're touched and it looks like a definite foul in real time. Our players do too but they're bad at it and ends up costing us a penalty.

Rashford is definitely getting a penalty in this.  It'll be an obvious dive to both the ref in real-time and more so to VAR but it'll be given because they won't want to be seen to be influenced by what has been said this week!  It is 'Trump shooting someone on 5th Avenue' all over again.

Then they won't get a penalty for another six games.

They'll get a pen and it'll be one of those ones that slowed down looks like a foul, but in reality is nothing. Yet VAR replays the slowed down video ten times to show there's slight contact.
