In fact this is the cornerstone of how I would revamp football. Transfer window runs until 1st September when it closes and the league season begins. Teams play the first hald of the season until 31st December without loads of pointless international breaks. Then the transfer window opens 1st January, as players go to international teams for a month to do all their fixtures in that period. Closes again at the end of the moment, and players go back to their clubs. They then play the exact mirror of their previous 19 fixtures. Plenty of other leagues are able to mirror the league fixtures, its ridiculous we don't do it in this country.

Yep it ended up that European clubs were still bidding for (and unsettling) players at English clubs who couldn’t then replace them. Should just have the various seasons begin on 1st September.
