Yeah that's the very uncomfortable elephant in the room. Be good to have City defenestrated both that deal goes through.

This is part of me wondering about the structure of recent transfer deals by City. There might be clubs relying on staggered payments from City that might not happen if they get expelled…

Didn’t Everton use to call themselves the Mersey Millionaires with their School of Football bulls***? Glasshouses and all that.

Been very easy for their fans (and those of the likes of Chelsea, Newcastle etc) to take a position of ‘we suffered for years in the wilderness and these owners and all they brought with them was our reward. We deserved this and you’re just jealous’. They rebranded what, at best, was cynical capitalism and sportswashing, as an act of charity and a reward for their own fan devotion.

I wonder how many of City’s recent transfer dealings with other clubs involve staggered payments. How many clubs in the PL are relying on City surviving as a club/company in order to receive the payments they’re owed for players who have travelled in the other direction.

That Haaland deal has stunk for years. There were reports when he signed that, with 'easily achievable bonuses' (presumably: 'come to work with legs') he was on £1m a week.

For all their shortcomings, FSG come out of all of this looking very good. Not only did they get Klopp and then challenge against the most significant cheating institution in the history of sport, they also were incredibly clear and consistent on FFP (and what City were trying to do) from day one.

Though even that is slightly marred by the fact that it was so clearly obvious that we were right. How on earth did anyone maintain any actual credulity that somehow Man City had started raking in more revenue than Real Madrid. Like, that's something we were supposed to believe was a plausible scenario.

Promote an extra team out of the various leagues to make the extra space. So if they get expelled from the PL and 3 teams still get relegated, 4 come up from the Championship and so on.

Seen suggestions that the verdict was communicated to City in the Summer. They then went on that insane spending spree.

That thought has crossed my mind for our forthcoming game.

There's no conceivable way that the other clubs in the league are going to settle for anything less than absolutely brutal punishments now.

The title that Klopp won is probably the greatest sporting achievement in the history of English football. Getting that amount of points and winning the league against a team that was so flagrantly cheating.

Hopefully once City's owners are stripped of the club they'll also have to rename the stadium etc to get rid of their corrupt sponsorship deals. Sadly Parc Asterix is already taken in France as an alternative name.
