That too but I think it must have been very hard for our players to keep going in every day seeing his empty locker, his place in the dressing room etc. Add in the chanting after 20 minutes of every game (which I understand but am not convinced we should keep doing for the sake of the players) then it must have been a very oppressive atmosphere.

Whilst there are probably lots of other reasons, it's notable that the lads who left us last summer had decent seasons with fresh surroundigns and not being surrounded by the Jota element all the time.

Arteta runs him into the ground at times. Salah played pretty much every minute for us but he rarely got injured. Arteta seems to overload Saka and not take account of his fitness which is why he picks up injuries. If I was an Arsenal fan I'd be worried he's going to get burned out very young.

Yeah in theory he should be the player to benefit most from having a manager who already knows how to get the best out of him.

The season we won the league under Slot, Gakpo had a very good scoring record for us at home. That obviously fell away last season (along with basically everything else) but we are going to need to get goals from across the front line.

I think the biggest thing we need from him is a level of calm assurance. Konate could spread panic at times and when Virgil eventually leaves we're going to need someone who is a calming presence in that back line.

City didn't seem overly motivated in winning anything in the centre of the pitch yesterday. Arsenal just played straight through them.
