Whoever we sign as the 9 needs to be able to do more than our current options next year, especially when Mo is away for Afcon.

Good, he's appalling

I like that the final goalscorer in our title winning game was called Destiny.

I think Mbeumo could be awesome for us. Shame he plays in Mo’s position.

I don't think that's a bad thing. Mbeumo might be a year or two older than we'd like (turning 26 at the start of next season) but Salah will be away at Afcon next year, and it would be nice to have a viable alternative for that position.

Edit; Guess Mbeumo might be off at Afcon too....

The links to Jonathan David have gone a bit quiet but I'd be very surprised if we're not in for him. We've been credibly linked on and off for years and we tend to return once we find players who fit the profile. He'll be hard to resist on a Bosman.

That Bascombe piece the other day also pretty much said we won’t pay 80m for etikite too.

Him and Semenyo would be a very us summer

Semenyo, Mbeumo, Gibbs White and Grey for starters. Cole Palmer for Gibbs White if possible and then full backs.

Bmouth want 75 million quid for Semenyo. I can't see us paying that

I like him a lot too. Pace, strength, hard worker and can score a goal.

Could be a Mane-like option.

Depending on price, obviously.

Mbeumo was really underwhelming at Anfield this season. Didn't see it at all, lumbering pace, very little threat.

Could have been an off day to be fair, but think we can do better.

Somone earlier in the thread mentioned that Bobby used to drop in to be an extra midfielder, and I think that's exactly what we need now. Our midfield is great but there's been a few times this season they've looked over run.

No idea who that is mind, ideas welcome!

Edit:

I also watched Huijsen at the weekend. He could be one for the future, but he didn't seem like our level yet. Is he going to want to go from playing every week to only featuring intermittently?

Why the f*** is everyone so expensive? I feel like a parent who’s been told how much a house now is in South London.

You used to be able to buy three Semenyos for that and spend the rest on furniture.

As long as we play the game both ways it shouldn't matter

Nunez can go on Vinted. Second hand, doesn't work as should, chipped and some of the parts missing. £70m please

That's a really uninspiring list - Gibbs-White aside

I reckon a lot of work will already be done.

I'm not going to worry too much about who we sign either. Edwards normally gets it right and Slot is evidently a brilliant coach.
