Thinking about some of the posts in the footy forums - like Andy & Paul losing enthusiasm in going, and I have to say some of my love of the game has gone in recent months, although there's a long way to go before I'm ambivalent - do you know anyone who has switched the club they support? I'm not talking fairweather fans, but regulars, passionate fans.

It's frequently said you can change your mates or partner, but a club is like your child. You love it & cannot change that. I don't know anyone who has

Nope not really however in local pub there's a guy who used to be in a lot a few years ago who was always screaming and shouting when arsenal was on and I thought bloody hell, he takes it a bit serious... didn't see him for a couple of years till a couple of months back when he turned up with Drogba on the back of his shirt and proceeded to scream and shout at the chelsea match

Only come across it when i was back in school.

My mate, who was a Red for first few years suddenly changed to Newcastle when they started doing "well". Stil lsupports them, though has a "soft spot" for Liverpool.

Also fella in my class who went from United to Villa to Newcastle.

Completely misses the point in my opinion.

I'll never fall out of love with football or LFC. Sometimes, like this season when we've largely been s***, you can get to a point where you feel "don't even care if they get beat here" cos you're so fed up with the bad form - although you only ever think that during a game, when we're not playing well!

each new game brings hope.

Could anyone get involved in an FC Liverpool ? On the same lines as the mancs have in protest at Glazer.

There's a temptation to wish Liverpool away from the media and the trappings of the Premier League.

I used to support Man U until Dennis Law broke my heart, changed from the devil to a liver bird and never looked back. Thinking of changing back though lately.

You need to remove that post Kev. It's the worst one I've ever seen.

It's the truth, can't you handle the truth ?

Been wanting to get that off my chest for years.

Different take for me, I love football, the skill, the passion, great goals etc, world cups etc... that comes first for me. Supporting Liverpool comes second for me.

Thats why it bothers me that we are playing sh*te footy, and would love to see someone like Guus Hiddink at the then helm!

my old man is a self confessed "turn coat"

every season brings a new team, mainly the mancs, never arsenal because he hates Wenger, this year he`s "supporting" sunderland, nothign could be more annoying, he bigs them up so much, im beginning to think they`ve over taken us in the league, it drives me crazy

another mate of mine, when we where kids, about 6 or so, supported Liverpool, but now he`s neutral, but really a closet manc, he wont admit he was a liverpool fan, but i know he was

and my best mate supports villa, his 2 older brothers, in fairness pushed the Liverpool thing on him when we where young, but a ssoon as all the irish went to Villa in the late 80`s he`s supported them ever since, no chance of waining, he`s taken years of abuse for supporting the villa, b******s are doing better than us with their boltonesque football

Mate of mine back home turned up in the pub for the FA Cup final in 96, wearing a Manchester United shirt. Threw me a bit at the time as I'd never realised he was a fan of theirs, and could have sworn he used to support another team. Few months later, I was looking back through some old photos and there he is wearing an Aston Villa shirt in not 1, but 3 different pics taken at different times. He claimed it wasn't him in the pics :D

All my mum's side of the family are blues. My aunty (her sister) has five kids..all of which were bluenoses (one a mad..mad.. evertonian who has subsequently passed away) my younger cousin, Stephen, came away on holiday with us to Butlin's Skegness  and over the course of the next two weeks we turned him into a red.

When we sent him back home it caused murder in his family. He stuck to his guns though and still supports Liverpool. He married a bluenose, too, and has three kids, the race to get a red or blue shirt on the new born's back is hilarious.

They are called Everton

Haha!

I know a few people who've switched teams, they tend to be the type who aren't actually into the game and only "support" a team for the banter, so they're not left out of conversations in the pub.

I know of two guys who went from Posh to Pompey. One who went from Liverpool to Milwall, One from Liverpool to ManU, and one from Liverpool to Chelsea, though the latter two did say that they stopped going to and being interested in football completely and got into Music instead for quiet a few years, and only recently got back into football.

A mate of mine used to be a blue and is now a red. So now he's Johnny the pink. He only changed sides cos another of our mates' dads got a job at LFC so he could get free tickets.

He still had the sticker on his door at his ma's house that said 'Everton Supporter's Room' about 5 years after he switched.

My mate's little brother changed from Sheffield Wednesday (I think because of the name "Chris Bart-Williams") to Arsenal when he was around 10.

Another mate was adamant that he was a St. Pat's fan despite going solely and regularly to Bohs matches.
