An absolute standout player. I for one admit that I never expected him to be that good for us. I thought we were buying a decent squad player back in 2017. Was I wrong....... My youngest son's idol. The shirt he bought on his first trip to Anfield. We were both holding back tears watching his video earlier, even though we will both not admit it to each other. In today's age of limited loyalty, I doubt we'll ever see someone with Salah's numbers and consistency ever again at the club...........and again I hope I am wrong. YNWA Mo. Thanks for all the brilliant memories.

Beglin was very good. That nasty injury when he was just 23yrs old basically ended him.
-
I'd have Nicol over Robbo for the reason that he was more versatile as a player. Not dissing Robbo. By miles the best LB we've had since Nicol and one who helped revolutionise our game under Klopp. Gutted were he to leave.

If Guehi is getting 300k a week at City compared to 160k we had apparently agreed with him, that is 36.5m over the course of a 5-year contract. I stand to be corrected about the figures of course, but if true I can see why the club didn't pursue him. We should of course have an alternative lined up.

To be fair it is the first time this player has been in this situation at the club i.e. not starting. When he was in the closest he was to this situation at the end of Klopp's reign he did make it evident that he was not happy after the West Ham game.

Very disappointing from Mo. With players like him it rarely ends well when they start losing their place in the team.
-
They were both goals, correct. The only consistency is that both decisions went against Liverpool.

Wait a few years. My 14yr old son (taller than me already) jumped on me and flattened me on the sofa when Rio scored. -
Bloody hell. That video the club released this evening has made me very sad once again.

Watching the funeral on You Tube. Filmed discreetly from outside the church but you could hear the service on a speaker. Don't understand Portuguese but it came across as a very sombre and simple celebration. I think they are being buried in the churchyard as all the congregation moved to the adjacent plot following the caskets. Loads of players, ex-team mates etc. there. YNWA Diogo

I've been unwell the last couple of days. I was in a daze yesterday morning when my 14yr old son came into my room to ask whether I've heard the news. I was shocked. At that point only MARCA were reporting it, so I was hoping it might not be confirmed. Sadly it was true. My boy is in bits. At that age the players are your idols and one of them passing away is unthinkable. I've been crying like a baby too. You just cannot help think of his family and the life they had ahead of them with him and his brother. Loved Jota as a player. One of those great team players. No nonsense, tough, gave 100% every time and didn't moan or sulk. Off the pitch he seemed to have been an even greater character. What a sad loss. I agree that the no.20 should be retired. I don't agree with such moves when a player retires or a former player dies.....but the no.20 shirt was still Diogo's. It should remain his.

Is Kerkez going to announce himself during the Dua Lipa encore maybe?

He was quite good when they knocked us out of the league cup in the semis in 2017. I forgot which of the two games it was in, but he picked the ball up in their half and ran at our team without anyone being able to take the ball off him until he was fouled.
-
80m for a striker is cheap.
-
A few months ago my FB memory from when I shared the news of his signing came up. It was quite funny reading all the posts by the Man U fans thinking we paid 45-50m over his realistic price and that he was nothing special.
-
All's well that ends well. Thanks for the memories Trent. You were exceptional at times. We move on.

I can understand what Klopp did. He was defending one of his best players, who won all there is to win with him. I am very pissed off at Trent. We all know he ran his contract down in agreement with Real, just to go there on a free. I do however also think that throughout this, he has still played an important part in the team. In hindsight, he should have maybe announced his departure next week. I am against the booing. It is different to booing a player turning up against us whilst playing for another club. I'd have personally preferred a mute reception when he came on the other day and I still think he deserves a polite applause during the presentation and celebrations. More importantly, as many have said........let us not make it about Trent. The club is bigger than anyone. Liverpool FC are champions and let's celebrate that .

Match Topic Liverpool vs Arsenal - Premier League, 11th May @ 4:30pm

The main issue with most wide players nowadays is that the play inverted and few take on the full back. They often slow down to cut inside and whilst that can be devastating as Salah has proven on many times, it often slows down attacks that could be more incisive. -
I personally do not agreeing with the booing. Maybe he shouldn't have been played these two games and just given a start/cameo against Palace.
-
Sad to see him go. He is the best RB in the world and a unique talent. At 49 I am way past being too deflated seeing players leave. I saw Souness, Rush, Beardsley, McManaman, Owen, Torres, Suarez and many more all leave. I grew less immune with each one leaving, as disappointing as it feels. My main qualm is that he is leaving on a free and it seems to have been planned this way for a while. He may however argue that he was loyal to the club since he was a kid and was right to think about himself. What rankles is that it is Real Madrid who will take him......the most entitled and devious club around. Thanks for the memories Trent. Time for all to move on.........
