Not too bothered about Wharton... I want players who can run all day to help the press... Want us to recreate the Fab-Gio-Hendo midfield... I think Szobo can do the Hendo role and maybe Ryan for the Gio role but we are desperate for someone in the Fabinho mould... He WAS the final piece to our midfield jigsaw.

His role at Leverkusen as I understood it was he played more of a Salah like in terms of not being asked to track back and mainly stay in the final third. Yes, he will press and close down but he is not a midfielder and his skillset is not attuned to playing there. He will come good with a group of players playing up to speed and a good manager who doesn't play pedestrian football.

We need a Fabinho type signing his influence was instrumental in becoming the crushing machine our midfield became.

So will all our players that we signed last summer... These are all very good players who would be excellent in the correct setup.

Heavy metal suits the league... Teams are so quick to get behind the ball and sit deep that a patient approach is pointless. You just need to cause chaos and quickly as possible without allowing the opposition to breathe.
