Is it 'confidence' though or just the deluded moral certainty they've stuck to throughout all of this?

Tven  they knew it was going against them I canl't believe their noises would be any dfferent.,

Even though all along, way before any charges were brought, their guilt has been beyond any doubt they have stuck to their combo of 'We didn't do it/we did do but it isn't fair how they found out we did it/it is all just a scouse plot to prevent us breaking up the big club monopoly' smorgasbord of defences. They aren't ever going to change tack on that, regardless of the verdict.
