growler Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Michael Owen opens up on Newcastle spell and why he still regrets Magpies move https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/michael-owen-opens-up-newcastle-19171658
Stevie H Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Anyone who buys this book is a f***ing idiot.
Ombudsam Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 What is the constituency for a Michael Owen autobiography?
Stevie H Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 What is the constituency for a Michael Owen autobiography? Journalists with expense accounts and clicks to attract. Owen's like a footballing Geri Halliwell at this point.
Cam Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Is this his third autobiography? And he's done nothing in the last ten years. Utterly pointless book. I've forgiven him for leaving Liverpool as he had carried us for all while with little reward or recognition. I've forgiven him for joining Newcastle because he's explained it all quite well several times. I've forgiven him for joining the Mancs because why the hell wouldn't a player join the best team in the league. But he can shut up now; no-one wants to hear from an unloved journeyman. Even Steve Claridge is still appreciated by some of his clubs.
cymrococh Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 What is the constituency for a Michael Owen autobiography?I bought a Liverpool shirt signed by the whole squad back in 2001ish, when I got it framed the bloke told me that it was worth at least £500 purely for the Michael Owen signature. I use it to wipe up sick now.
Conrad Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 I was given a michael owen shirt straight out of his locker by gerard houllier its massive, weirdly.

Him joining the mancs still rankles a bit tbh - but he said all he had was that or Hull so...
billybunter Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 I was given a michael owen shirt straight out of his locker by gerard houllier its massive, weirdly. My memory of him is always wearing a shirt too big for him.
Swipe Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Shearer and Owen having a twitter spat about it now. Owen saying Shearer was 'inches away from singing for Liverpool' at one point. https://twitter.com/themichaelowen/status/1168822808614526976
stressederic Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 It was Houllier who tried a few times to get Shearer wasn't it?
cymrococh Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 (edited) It was Houllier who tried a few times to get Shearer wasn't it?Forget it... Edited September 3, 2019 by cymrococh
oakie bob Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Shearer actually came to Anfield for talks about moving, it was close to happening
cymrococh Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 I’d have loved Shearer. Can you imagine? He'd have been fantastic.
Sion Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Genuinely wonder sometimes if Owen is on the autistic spectrum. He seems to have real issues with social communication and interaction. Doesn't like films. Obsessed with horse racing.
Barnesy_10 Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 He's drumming up a buzz over a new book. Lineker and Shearer are probably in on it too Happens every time a new book comes out for a player who isn't as significant as they once were

He writes in it that he can’t understand Liverpool fans’ dislike of him and particularly the vitriol he gets on social media. I get the impression he thinks the silent majority actually like him. He’s thick, basically.
Billy Talbot Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Shearer actually came to Anfield for talks about moving, it was close to happening Was this in 2004 when it looks like Owen is talking about or earlier. He was 34 in 2004.
