Liverpool vs Real Madrid - Champions League, 4th November @ 8pm

Felt like our formation was a little more compact last night. More a 4-2-3-1 than a 4-3-3. Hopefully we'll see the same again. Having Mac and Grav as the two helps everyone out. Also having Gakpo Dom and Mo as the 3 brings Mo into the game more and frees up Dom to be the pressing monster we know he is. That alone helps the whole team.

Thought everyone was excellent last night. Not a shock that Hugo was the only new out field player either.

Think the only decisions re the team are at LB dependent on how many games we can expect Robbo to play in a week and who starts on the left

Save Robbo for Man City, at this stage of the season that's the bigger game out of the two. Kerkez needs to play to get into some sort of form so he starts against Real.

Agreed. kirkez for Madrid and Robbo for Man City.

Nothing to fear. We either win lose or draw but the main thing is seeing the same application as yesterday. We could lose these next two any season.

I wouldn’t, no issue if, IF we lose to madrid in early November, losing to them in 5, 6 or 7 months time when something big is on the line is a different matter.

This weeks game is about confidence, form and getting the entire unit into a place that we can build from so that when the chips are down in springtime we can f*** them over big style.

Get out of here, what is there to be scared of, we can target their right back for a start?

If we still had Diaz, that's exactly what I'd be doing. Shame Gakpo isn't that type of player.

He was an unused sub at the weekend for them, not sure how likely he is to play.

Agree on just wanting to see a load of application and intent. However, it was this double header that lead to me to declare the league was done last November. It was clear as day we were the best around. Shows the fall off.

Think we'll be up for it after last night and we're going to smash them

It was great finally beating them again last season

It’s the least important remaining game this calendar year. Play lads who need a run out for fitness.

We did that in midweek, worked like a treat. No thanks

We need to build some confidence not take another step and get battered

Bad take

If Slot does a Rodgers here, I'm straightaway hopping on Sammya's sacking bus

Anybody in town before the game who fancies a pint with Molby, me and Mike Moran (London Liverpool Fan) PM me, not sure of the venue yet but about 3.30pm start near James Street. Probably catching up with Jonesy near the ground later.

Gakpo is very capable and bright, I'm sure follows instructions.

We know TAA inside out, I was half in jest but we could expose him if we get it right.

I thought he was injured? Is he first choice for them now?

Hope he plays

So do I, and it looks like he might.

Agreed. It's literally the point of football and why players join great teams. To play against other great teams and have a change of beating them. To do all the hard work last year and get the reward of playing the likes of Real Madrid at home only to have your best players watching from the dugout is literally taking the joy of football down a side alley and executing it. Momentum and joy die on decisions like that.

We need to get it left to expose him.

By knackering the only 12 players the manager seems to trust? Before City?

ok.
