There was a point with the Minteh noise where I'd thought we were maybe being quite canny in making PSG drop their price. But the latest news on Minteh f***s that entirely, in fact it probably gives PSG license to increase their asking price for Mbaye.

It was basically the least concerning position on the pitch yesterday.

Think this is the question, looks as though they're both going for about the same fee. But there's a lot to be said for experience in the league. Minteh's shown he can handle himself and is up to speed with the league (once he's fit) Hasn't scored many goals but that was in a pretty defensive side who didn't score many in general.

This is fair, I've been trying to keep my 'generous mode' hat on as much as possible too. The timeline of the summer looks as though we thought Diomande was nailed on, and we've flapped it since then. The thing with that is that we'd never agreed personal terms with Diomande even when we were putting in bids to the club. Feels like we got Caicedo'd again, and only got ourselves to blame if we hadn't agreed with the player ages ago.

This is ignoring the Mighty Red-shaped elephant in the room that Gordon is a boyhood red.

Doesn't even matter if we're not looking to replace him really. But that's why I'm not buying that reporting for now. We shouldn't be in any rush to get him off the books unless we're looking to spend in the way selling a homegrown player allows you to.

Salah needs replacing literally, as in we don't have a right winger. I get that the club are currently in lying mode while they try to sort transfers, but the idea of Rio being first choice there is mad since he's 18 and shown very little to say he can play that position.

Beggars belief how we've used this window to so tangibly downgrade our playing squad.
