This interview is the top story on Sky this morning. As they said 'exciting times' for Liverpool - love the way they are going about their business. Not sure if this is everything he said - on the feature on Sky they also said he wanted a Premier League title by 2013...

Great Interview

John W Henry has hinted Liverpool will hand Kenny Dalglish an extended deal as manager and stay at Anfield by redeveloping the famous venue.

Dalglish was named Reds manager for the remainder of the season following Roy Hodgson's sacking last month, much to the delight of the club's fans.

Despite a slow start to Dalglish's return, the team are now in fine form having won their last three matches without conceding a goal.

The 59-year-old Scot has lifted the doom and gloom surrounding the club and Henry admits the club are reaping the rewards of bringing Dalglish back.

"It's still early, but in retrospect you could not have made, in our case it was very fortunate for us, but we could not have made a better choice," he told Fox Soccer Channel.

"I know he, for a long time now, has wanted to be in this position, so it's a great thing for the club, for Kenny and for us."

As well as retaining Dalglish's services Henry has hinted the club could opt to stay at Anfield and redevelop the venue rather than move to a new home.

A new stadium has been top of Liverpool's agenda for some time but having sampled the unique atmosphere, Henry is against running the risk of losing their identity in a new ground.

"The Kop is unrivalled," he continued. "The atmosphere, I was really surprised because we've heard so much about needing a new stadium.

"We were surprised at how beautiful Anfield was both viewing it as an empty stadium and then with the first game. It would be hard to replicate that feeling anywhere else."

This week saw the exit of star striker Fernando Torres for rivals Chelsea and Henry insists there was little point in retaining a player who wanted to move.

Sparks are sure to fly on Sunday with Torres is line to make an immediate appearance against Liverpool when he makes his Chelsea debut.

"One of things that we talked about from the very beginning was how important it was that everyone was on the same page. No player is bigger than the club," Henry said.

"We expect players to want to be there. If they don't want to be part of Liverpool Football Club then we should do everything we can to facilitate them going elsewhere."

Sounds like its redevelopment then. Can't wait to see the plans and capacity.

I like JWH a lot.

If he puts the money in this summer to get us the players we need to push on (signs are promising), then I'll love him.

The Carroll deal gives him and FSG really kudos with us fans and rightly so.

I'm very exctied about our future whereas only 6 weeks ago it was despairing - I actually feel myself in an all round better mood everyday now!!!

Dalglish as manager...

no more whining over trying to keep 'big name' players

standing firm and getting top whack for torres

going out and signing two players straight away

club, fans, manager and players all together

loving anfield

demanding to be the best in the world

seeing the issues clearly (see SOS response by henry and Werner...top top reply by very switched on men)

able to put my name at the bottom of my posts after H&G and Woy boycott :-)

loving what is happening at our club...never thought it could remotely look like this 6 months ago during court cases and administration...

Hate it when people use the word "this" in reply to a post, but, just this once... this. ;)

By the time you get down you may as well go back up for the next match to start

We all know the risks inherent in redeveloping, on a high level, but if these guys are smart enough to plan around these risks (loss of revenue while building, regeneration etc) and redevelop to the capacity (60K+(?)) and design (exec boxes etc) that's needed then I find it hard to entertain any argument in favour of moving.

Impressive that.

The HKS designs were very nice, but I'm loathe for the two b*stards to have some sort of lasting legacy at the club.

If FSG can do it I'd love Anfield to be redeveloped - the atmosphere of the place could never, ever be replicated and it would be my preferred choice by a distance.

G&H were vilified for not building a new stadium, NESV say they don't want one and it's great all of a sudden. There's nothing in the quotes to suggest redevelopment, just that they dont think a new stadium us necessary.

I'm not too impressed by the transfer window either, they didn't spend any of their own money. I know it was all a bit stressful with the Torres situation (which was handled really well), but they could have got a defender in regardless. They could have spent 15m-25m on David Luiz for example at the beginning of the window and strengthened the squad further.

Whilst Kenny getting the Torres money back is something what would never have happened under the previous owners i'm still on the fence regarding the new ones.
