  1. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/articles/c1rv19ygje4o What a farce
  2. I know there are many theories on why our bubble burst this season. Mainly it was legs and injuries and players coming back not quite at the right time. Its also not unreasonable to consider that Jurgen's announcement created an emotional energy that carried us... Until things started to go awry and the tiredness Jurgen spoke of became reflected on the pitch... But one further point... Klopp 2.0 had transcended and superceded Edwards, Ward etc etc. This was Klopp 2.0, but even though his announcement preceded their appointment and our falling away, the peak of Jurgen's emotional bandwagon came with the league Cup final. After this, in early march, the club did the very thing Jurgen's timing mandated them to do - plan for the future. Edwards gets appointed. Klopp 2.0 is over. From that point, the centre of gravity shifted, and even sub consciously the mojo went out of the season.... Its just a further thought, most likely easily negated by beat Man united in the FA cup when we were hammering them... And all would have been well
  3. Text in the spoiler.. Surely there's no way this goes through and if it doesn't, what the heck happens then....
  4. Mad how that was a pen for city and the kung fu kick on Macca wasn't
  5. Blah blah blah... We've got a new manager. Get over it and get on with it
  6. Take a bow son, Take a bow
  7. Should be like it was in the good old days.. Kung fu kicks and play on..
  8. You can fairly be rated very, very highly and not be in our all time XI without the latter meaning you are overrated. Some of the best players to have ever played in this league are not in our all time XI
  9. There was a moment in last night's game when the camera was panning around the benches and crowd in the background and it was like every other male could have been Arne Slot.. It was the only moment of levity on an otherwise pathetic evening "I'm Sloticus"
  10. 100%. He won the bundesliga twice, breaking bayern's domination and took them to the CL final. Setting aside club bias what Klopp did at BM is comparable to what Ferguson achieved at Aberdeen, breaking the Old Firm dominance and achieving European success. These are generational leaders, and like it or not the same is true of Pep. We don't need to talk Klopp down to try and talk Slot or any other manager up. We also cannot presume on always having a generational leader as by definition they are rare. What we can be is a top club in world football that wins stuff, and those change their managers quite a bit.
  11. What if we've flushed out West Ham to make a move for Reuben, leaked the Eddie Howe stuff so as to get the fans to a place of 'anyone but Eddie ho....' and then BOOM The Moysiah is confirmed! #bravenotpopular #youdon'thavetowintobeawinner(thismeansmore)
  12. Great win... That palace game really sticks in the throat when you think what could have been with 5 games to go
  13. Without being polemical I genuinely think it really depends on how the new manager sees these players and what he gets out of them. It's not unrealistic to envisage that the analysis of options will conclude that the front five is flawed. Salah will continue to decline. The sheer pace is not there and it's been a long while since he beat his man. Nunez is not consistent at the highest level. We play loads of clubs whose players can have great games, but the best players do that every week. He's simply not ruthless enough to be our number 9. Diaz may actually want to go himself, and is more of a wide midfielder than a left sided striker Gakpo is...... I'm not sure. Feels like Jurgen could turn him into firmino #2 but... What is he? Jota.. The only player who does what he says on the tin and could be the one that stays. Don't think anything above is unduly harsh or unreasonable.
  14. We won't be building a team around Salah other than to compensate for his decline. That's just the reality. Mo has been all time 11 great, but that will wane and he hasn't had a strong finish to a season for a long time. Nunez is not a young player. He's 24. Unless the new manager does transform him his conversion ratio, which is statistically pathetic for a Liverpool number 9, is going to stay that way. Elliott and Jones are very capable players whose careers might go in very different ways now. They've been moulded by Klopp to play in Klopps team. It will be interesting to see how they adapt. They could kick on and really grow, or they might get lost in the changes.
  15. It's no slight on Klopp at all to say that it's time for fresh eyes, a new voice and a reset. Klopp has said he doesn't have the energy and when it starts to go awry that's when it shows. Once the momentum goes it's almost impossible for the leader who has already mentally left the building to turn it around. What will be interesting are the players who have been part of Klopps project that a new manager will maybe cut. Think Salah will be allowed to leave. If the stats guys get a greater say Nunez wastefulness will see him gone, Jones and Elliott will have it all to prove. Trents development has been stunted by a lack of positional clarity and indulging the idea of what he could be rather than enforcing what he should be.... Change on the way
  16. Brilliant.... All that chat about needing them to stay in to tire out... But nah!!
  17. He will pick up and he will be a good player for a season or two yet, but there is always a danger that a team shaped around a star player's strengths (which is totally right) starts to become shaped to compensate for the waning star's weaknesses.
  18. The man is a legend but it's what he's going to do for the next 3 years and that is going to be less than he has given before... Let the legs go on someone else's watch
  19. I hope the stats lads call it and we make the smart move to see that Mo is now on the decline. He will always be in the conversation for best 11 of all time, but now is the time to be bold, say thanks to the Egyptian king, and move on
  20. Mo has not had a strong second half to a season for a good number of years. Need a big 45 otherwise the season is more or less over.
  21. A new manager either unlocks the genius or bins him early.
