I love this electronic version of finding yourself disoriented and in the wrong place. We all need to get used to it.

I think we need to keep bulking him up. De Bruyne wasn’t quick but he was strong, and I can’t help but feel Wirtz takes a nice touch but then gets knocked off the ball a lot. Everything lacking is the physical side but that’s the easiest part to train and improve.

Ward messed about trying to sign a proper DM when he was in charge, and we still haven’t signed one now 3 years later. Haven’t been convinced about our transfer strategy for a long time. Jurgen left these guys with a tap in. They are all yet to convince they weren’t just lucky to have a genius work with their choices.

Ward hasn’t done anything to deserve the job.

Bizarrely after the position looking like a big weakness CB is starting to look like a strength. If Leoni is as good as he looked in the brief time we got to see him before, him and Jacquet could be the future. VVD playing well and Araujo has done well too. RB now looks like the biggest issue.

Love this kid, class act.

Kerkez comes across as having the right level of IQ to be a Trump rally goer.

Iraola has a big job on his hands moulding an expensive and talented squad that has been very poorly assembled. He needs time. Anyone on this forum could have done what Richard Hughes has done and bought a load of players everyone knows for massive money. There is no balance to it, there are big gaps to cover and the failure to buy a midfield enforcer despite all the money spent is bordering on negligence. Might as well have re-employed Jen Chang as Director of Football. i like Iraola and the style of play he wants to implement, very willing to be patient.

He looks great for being Slot de-programmed, fair play to him. Much sharper, more dynamic and involved in a lot of our good stuff. Wonder if Slot was telling him to just cut in and shoot from anywhere every time he got the ball?

He is ridiculously fast, think he’ll be great when we get the balance of the team right and he’s settled in to the PL.

I’d like to see him on the right of midfield with Barcola on the left (although to be fair Gakpo has been good).

Koumas made a pretty good case for playing in that number ten role last night ahead of either of them. Szobo got all the headlines for his goal but he was awful otherwise, looked like he had his boots on the wrong feet. Somehow Iraola needs to find a way to give him a role with space to run. Pace, work rate and ball striking are his biggest attributes. He had his best run in the team in the title season playing as a ten behind the striker, when he had more room to run into and did more pressing. He isn’t good in tight midfield battles, much too lightweight and gives the ball away too easily. Definitely in the PL. Feels like we have a lot of talent and potential but they need shaping into a team which gets the best out of them.

Felt like Koumas looks a bit like Wirtz in terms of his body shape etc but he was doing everything at twice the speed. Think the energy of him especially but all the young lads really showed the first team players up. We got noticeably worse after Grav and Szobo came on for Nyoni and McConnell regardless of Szobo’s worldie. Gravenberch is in horrible form, so sloppy.

His pressing was great, and some lovely passing. Slot basically ruined everyone last season, so I think it’s important to just forget anything you saw from new players last season. You can see them all making progress already.

Gakpo has actually looked decent on the right this season, maybe makes him think about it more rather than just constantly cutting in and shooting. Was very encouraging seeing Rio go outside and beat his man a couple of times last night, it’s so important to have the defender worried about that as a right footed left winger.

Yes the passing and composure is definitely more Matip than Konate. And as I loved Joel I’m happy.

Doesn’t play at all like a 20 year old who hasn’t got a full season under his belt. So composed for his age.

Feels like we are clicking at times.

Alvarez literally pretending to be injured as he wasn’t touched. Hate these sh*tbags.
