F*cking Konate with his blunders every week, sends everyone into a panic and changes the whole feel of the game. Every f*cking week!! Look at the passage of play after thar one. We were well on top before it. He’s an absolute liability. -

Right back to being painfully slow moving the ball, far too deep and far too passive. What’s happened to the high press? It’s really dreadful to watch. If this is Slotball make it stop. Feyenoord didn’t play like this did they? -
Apart from the fact that we spent £200m on two 9s in the summer and can only play one of them!

One thing I really noticed yesterday (even in one of our better recent performances) was there was a lack of confidence taking risks in moving the ball through midfield. Our build up is so ponderous at times. Whether that’s instruction or just the mentality at the moment I don’t know. What I loved about Wirtz’s performance was he stood out as one who was ready to take chances and try things in tight spaces. I feel like Macca was great at playing that cutting forward pass last year but he’s much more cautious now.
-
I think the issue for me is the squad looks unbalanced after the summer signings, I was sure there was a plan but it feels a bit tenuous or has been misjudged. Thought Wirtz was great yesterday and will be great in that advanced central role, but it’s pushed Szobo out of a role he was great in last season. Spending £200m on two central strikers feels extravagant and may result in some issues as both will feel they should start. We are struggling for width due to poor form from Gakpo and Mo, injuries to Frimpong and the loss of Diaz. It all feels too slow in build up and too narrow. Bud the summer signings seem to have driven it that way. Injury to Leoni and failure to sign Guehi also big issues as Konate has needed dropping all season. So it feels the summer splurge was a bit haphazard.

Taking off Wirtz odd decision. Our best player toddy and looked full of running. -
Hughes and Edwards are probably unable to compute that they might have f*cked this up. Trying all kinds of analytics on Arne’s recent performance, and finding a ray of hope in the ‘expected throw ins’ data.
-
Ooh - the briefing has started! Puff piece about Hughes incoming. An insider said ‘Richard was in charge last year but Slot went mad with power after winning the title and demanded the signings of Isak and Wirtz or he’d resign….’

Usually Grav ends up at CB at the point when Slot in true school PE Teacher fashion brings 5 random forwards on and tells them to run around. So not sure you can judge him there - but you can’t take him out of midfield anyway.
-
He’s like Moreno and Insua’s love child.
-
I’d carry him to Madrid in Hodgson’s sedan chair, with the seat filled with poisonous gas to detonate on arrival. A T-Roy-jan Horse if you would.
-
The manager just looks really weak to me. Konate has taken the p*ss all season, no application or concentration but picks him week after week despite costly error after costly error. What message does that send to the squad. Quansah got dropped at HT in game one last year and sold for far less. Where is that ruthless streak now? You have to look back to them all f*cking off to Dubai mid season after winning it last year. It’s not a good look now, they have no edge, like they thought that was it. We’ve been utter, utter s*** for 9 months since.
-
He’s not playing the same tactics, we are far less direct. He’s slowed us right down and the whole team looks half asleep.
-
We’d be in League One by then.

Slot looks completely clueless, just doing the same things every week, no clue how to change it. Picking the same underperforming players over and over. -
This is a total shambles, he has to go. Just done all the same stuff he did against Forest from start to finish and expected a different result.
-
Great stuff again tonight.

Haha brilliant

Noticed we have two of the top four in ‘most touches’ in the PL (VVD and Szobo) but are mid table. Strong indication our build up is too slow. Felt like last season Slot added a little patience to Jurgen’s high velocity which balanced it nicely. But he’s gone another step along with that and we’ve lost our dynamism. Added to losing our most direct, fast ball runner in Diaz and Mo slowing another step, it’s far too pedestrian.

I think we’d be a genuine improvement on Konate. Although I’ve reinvented myself as a striker, currently top scorer in the Cheshire O45s league with 16 goals and assists in my last 6 league games. So replacing Isak is the plan…
