I don’t disagree with that, but he’s been consistently sh*te this season and with VVD on the wane that’s a worry. I feel like his passing used to be a lot better. Maybe he’s just more exposed without Klopp’s tactics and a world class passer of the ball next to him. Might be it just suited him much better covering for Trent’s defensive issues whilst being able to give him the ball.

OK read the other comments. He was great at Sunderland and last night, otherwise better than pre Christmas but still often a disaster waiting to happen. This though I absolutely cannot let go. His passing is abysmal. He’s not suited to a team that is going to have a lot of the ball. I think he’d be brilliant in a Dyche Burnley team, where all he has to do is tackle, head and boot it up in the air.

He’s crap - doesn’t move until the ball is nearly past him even though he’s only going one way. And he’s awful with the ball at his feet. A huge downgrade on Alisson.

That’s outrageous you can’t overturn that.

He’s asked for an enormous contract, flashed his knickers at the likes of Real and PSG when we said no, but had no takers because of his woeful season for us. On the basis of all of that it’s hard to be enthusiastic at this point, but that can change with time. He was really good for a couple of seasons with the odd mad awful game. He switched that over to mostly mad awful games with the odd good one. Hopefully the contract and personal issues being out of the way might mean it’ll switch back again.

Haha - 48 now, still playing Sunday League! Been banging them in for the O45s, now been talked into playing O35s again with the ‘youngsters’..on this trajectory my PL debut is a year or two away…

I’d genuinely rather him f*** off on a free than sign a new contract. Actually hate him, and he’s got the audacity to run his contract down. He doesn’t give a f*ck and hasn’t all season, just wants his big payday.

He’s undoing all Jurgen’s hard work building a culture. Slot f***ing off to Ibiza half way through last season and lapping it up like a celebrity when there was still a lot of football to be played in hindsight was a really bad sign. His team has played like they are on the beach ever since, outworked and sloppy.

No fight, work rate, outran by 5kms. Totally unacceptable.

He’s incredibly talented, definitely reminds me of Henry at times with his touch and the way he just accelerates and glides past defenders so smoothly. But his decision making in the final third reminds you he’s still young and raw. So often keeps it when he should pass and overdoes it when he should shoot. His ceiling is world beater though.

They actually pressed today, meaning they got the ball back high up the pitch. It’s weird we don’t do it more when we have loads of players who are great at it (Macca, Szobo etc) and it works. It gets the fans going too. Watching all the top class players we have play at a level which in some way merited their ability, and seeing how exceptionally good the result was almost makes the rest of it seems even weirder. We were amazing tonight. Watching them press and tackle and fight a bit then asking why the f*ck haven’t they been doing that all season? Why have they been so passive? There is absolutely tons of talent in this squad, as much ability as we’ve ever had. Maybe they’ll keep doing that now.

Burns my head out that it looks like he just got ridiculously lucky inheriting a Klopp team that was going to win it whatever. He’s got the same number of league titles as Jurgen.

Based on the players we have available I think this is up there with the worst season any Liverpool manager has ever delivered. Absolutely pathetic.
