He was on Irish TV last night, and accused Benitez of deliberately sabotaging Liverpool.

I'm paraphrasing, but along the lines of: "Sometimes managers when they know they're leaving, like to run down a club, leave it in a worse way"

Rafa's lawyers should stick a writ up his a***, the slanderous simpleton (does that compute? "my client refutes the claim of slander on the basis that he's intellectually and educationally subnormal and has no idea what he's saying")

I had a taxi driver say that to me the other day.

Finishing 2nd with a record points total makes a bit of a mess of that theory.

In summer 09 Cascarino also said that we should just sign Silva and Villa, and that he couldn't understand why Rafa couldn't see this. He probably still thinks this.

To be fair to Cascerino, he is a Southern simpleton with the IQ of a mouldy onion.

He also revealed that during his time at Marseille, he and many other of the club's players were injected by club president Bernard Tapie's personal physician with an unknown substance. The physiotherapist at the time insisted the substance was legal and would provide an "adrenaline boost". Cascarino claimed that most players accepted the injections[3] and that "it definitely made a difference: I felt sharper, more energetic, hungrier for the ball". He also later admitted suffering from depression, erectile disfunction and various forms of schizophrenia. His popularity amongst Marseille fans has been damaged by these revelations.

:D :D :D

Now we know what they meant when commentators said Cascarino had 'a bit of a limp'.

At least he can claim to have had similarities to Pele...

He's an utter d****ead. He fits in perfectly at the times. I assume this was on tv3. Their coverage makes Richard Keys, Jamie Rednapp etc looking like footballing sages.

Lads, I know that it's like looking at a flame and wanting to put your hand in, but really, Cascarino? He knows nothing and everyone knows it. Just don't bother.

Exactly my thoughts. Why even give him the time of day.

Exactly - can't believe he's getting any bandwidth.

The intensity of this ongoing anti-Benitez campaign is quite amazing. What's behind it? Seems hard to believe it's just bad-old-british xenophobia

there are one or two who actually believe it and the rest just fall into line & trot it out because it makes them think they seem informed.

It'll be interesting when Ferguson goes - it'll be a f***ing party time - if his successor doesn't do well enough. Will it be Ferguson's fault or the new manager's?

sometimes impossible to avoid though. i like the times podcast, like hearing what gabriele marcotti has to say a lot, so have to suffer arrogant f*ckwits like paddy barclay and windowlickers like cascarino to hear marcotti's good stuff. annoying.

I don't see many top managers lining up to the take the Man Utd job after Ferguson. Bound to 'fail' - the squad isn't quite what it once was so completely bombing with it is a possibility, and any success will be credited to the "great legacy" he left behind.

That reason and the Glazers.

Think Cascarino has been on the Times podcast sometimes, but to be fair I haven't noticed him being a complete t*** so far, but that's probably more to do with Paddy Barclay being on the same podcast and drawing all the attention in that regard...

Anyway, if Cascarino is a worse pundit than Steve Claridge then he should be immediately hanged, drawn and quartered. Such is the level of absolute s**** Claridge keeps spouting.

Neither, itll be the glazers (and Ferguson did well to the end because hes a true great)

Heard the Cascarino comments live as well. The guys a prick.

Jason Cundy, Dean Windass, Paul Merson & Steve Claridge - do SKY go out of their way to recruit ex-footballers who are from the lowest of a very low intellectual talent pool ? These guys can't even speak English properly.

Cundy is a f***ing presenter now as well. Flicked it over the other night and he was presenting that "You're On Sky Sports" garbage.

End of days stuff.
