Can't be long now before he faces the axe at Arsenal.

Pretty football they play from time to time - but effective? Useful?

It appears not.

With their resilience disappearing down the plug hole by the minutes, their exodus of anyone remotely good away from the club, the resignation of key figures, the credit crunch, the myopia and the increasing paranoia and complaining from the man himself all points to that fact that all is very, very far from being well at Arsenal.

They are imploding quicker than you can believe.

So.. Is it days, weeks or perhaps months that he's got to turn their fortunes around?

Or can they accept being out of the 'Champions' League from next season - pipped it appears by several likely candidates.

The way Arsenal are playing at present - plus their terrible form in the tail-end of last season, finishing the season in the bottom half of the table appears a very likely prospect.

If they did finish 10th or below - is that acceptable to such a big club?

Will be be forced away - or will their loyalty mean that their own fans will have to accept midtable obscurity. Can always happen - there are so many examples - Notts Forest, Man City, Leeds United, Aston Villa themselves.

If they don't buck up their ideas - their empire will crumble like a very elegantly crafted pack of cards.

Many of their key players suffered long-term injuries (rocisky, fabregas, eduardo, etc) and never replaced sol campbell and more recently flamini. wenger has done a tremendous job at arsenal, with a very limited budget. with two good buys in defence and defensive midfield they would be on track again.

in any case if he gets sacked i would offer him the job as chief scout of LFC :cooler:

Time to lay off the sherry, Andy. If you honestly think Arsenal will finish in the bottom half of the table then you must be either drunk or delusional.

I still reckon that Villa shall slip off and that Arsenal will claim fourth place, but even if Villa don't, I cannot see Arsenal slipping below fifth.

Besides, its going to take a lot more than just one really bad season for them to get rid of Wenger.

Wenger won't get sacked, but he is becoming a tedious fecker.

His whinge about Aston Villa having a word with the referee at half-time (simply to clarify why he didn't give a foul in the build up to the goal) and therefore ensuring that every decision went in their favour in the second half was ludicrous. Especially considering the Gallas penalty was clear-cut - no controversy to it at all. Arsenal were fortunate yesterday - there was a 3 to 4 goal whopping on the cards which they somehow managed to avoid. They've got a decent run of fixtures now though, so we'll see in the next month or two whether they're dead and buried for this season.

Atsenal will finish 5th at worst. I think they will get 4th.Wenger will not be sacked for a long time yet. He really is becoming an annoying c*** though.

Quite a bit of boardroom unrest at Arsenal at the moment also, what with Lady Farqaur Hinge&Bracket Windsor, being booted of the board, for a self confessed Man Ure fan, Alisher Usmanov (one dodgy b4stard).

Got a feeling Arsenal will finish 5th, and Real Madrid will offer Wenger the job in the summer.

There are similarities to Wenger now and GH during his last year. He'll possibly survive this summer if they finish 4th but it'll be a mistake and Arsenal will see him off the following season as they languish midtable.

It'd be very interesting to see what goes on at Arsenal if they finish outside the top four. Fabregas will most certainly leave along with Gallas. It'd be a great time to put in a good bid for Sagna whose head and shoulders above the next best right back in the league attacking wise and a decent defender as well.

They also have a huge loan to pay for with the new stadium and the lack of CL money might actually pressure them to sell off a couple of players. Tey will get good money for Fabregas though.

I work with and know a lot of match going Arsenal fans and they seem to think that the only people who are suggesting the fans want wenger out are non Arsenal fans and the media. There is no pressure at the club to get rid of him.

Arsenal will end the season in the top 4 as per normal and we will all laugh when we think of another A@A prediction that went t*** up again. ;)

I can't understand why anyone thinks they will finish outside the top 4.

Also, as for the debt, they sell Cesc, and that covers their cost deficit for the year.

Finally, remember, 4th has to play 2 qualifying rounds now.

It could easily happen. Villa have mullered them home and away this season and taken 4 points of them, plus have the look of a far more resilient side.

Add into that Fabregas' injury and I'd say it is pretty easy to see why top 4 is far from certain.

they've won nwt for four years. In that time we've been to two CL finals, won one plus an FA cup and people in the media talk about Rafa 'failing' or similarly make out he hasn't done a good enough job.

About time that Wenger got some serious s*** IMO

Because he's under pressure for the first time in his Arsenal career and is irritable.

That interview after the Villa game was like a sulk

I said at the start of the season that I thought Villa would pip them for 4th and I still think they will. Wenger can't go on too much longer if they win nothing for a 4th year and if he fails to spend when the board are saying there's money.

He's always been a bit one eyed, always seeing the free kicks, sending offs etc. that should have been given in Arsenal's favour but never seeing them the other way bu he has defintely got worse over the last 9 moths or so - in fact I think since the CL quarter final - the ridiculous amoutn of times he has moaned about the penalty but never once said 'we had enough chances to win it ourselves but we didn't take them'. Same with the Villa match, he gets all worked up about the Villa penalty but doesn't allow for the fact that his team was outplayed and his own inept defence should have shut up shop at 2-0 up. He is either being clever in trying to deflect attention from the Gooners' inadequacies or he is plain stupid. Either way I just wish he'd shut up. He sounds more paranoid than Morinho.

arsene w*****

least gracious manager in the premiership. will never pay another team credit when they get the better of arsenal. even ferguson and mourinho have complimented 'lesser' teams post-match on occasion.

I used to like Wenger but he's fallen from greatness.

Breaking that great team up and letting the midfield all go in one year was a management disaster.

But letting all the replacements go last season was even worse.

Even man and his dog can see that Fabregas needs a protecter in that centre and that Rosicky and Nasri have been fragile throughout their careers. He's blundering on a level GH did coming to the end of his tenure.

This rumour that he's a shareholder and won't spend the money so the clubs books look good maybe true?

Liam Brady was on Irish tv last season bragging that they'd millions to spend and he really hasn't invested it at all.

Their future isn't rosy really.

They've got a big fancy cash cow stadium devoid of top talent and great fans.
