My son and I did a cocktail workshop while on holiday and got told that despite asking for it “shaken, not stirred”, Bond always gets handed it “stirred, not shaken”.
It turns out that if you shake it, the mix goes very cloudy and stays that way for a couple of minutes, but stirred it is a clear drink (which is what he gets handed in the film (yes, we know it’s not a real martini)).
So we then proved this, I made a stirred, son made a shaken. They also taste different. To do with the volume of ice/air that gets put in with the ingredients.
