John am Rhein Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 List them here: the obvious Bennett/Mascherano incident, of course, but also... the recent European Cup Q/F drawMan U vs Arsenal a few years ago (Pizza throwing game)Both Man U-Blackburn games in the 1993/94 seasonMan U-Nantes a few years ago where two Nantes defenders simultaneously tried to handle the ballHans Segers helping Everton stay up in (?) 1994-ishDerby-Juventus, 1973 European Cup Semi FinalWest Germany-Argentina 1990 World Cup final (Argentina simply not allowed to win)Various Italian games, especially the one where Internazionale beat Sampdoria 3-2 and didn't celebrate the winning goal because a 2-2 draw had been agreed and were accused of being 'traitors' in the post match press conferenceLeeds-West Brom, 1971, most offside 'goal' ever
John am Rhein Posted April 1, 2008 Author Posted April 1, 2008 Ermm 1965 the semi in Milan. Yes, but what's the story there? I eventually saw this 'blatantly offside goal' and, if anything, it looked ONside. What else were the allegations?
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 scoring directly from an indirect FK and the ref admitting years later to a bung
Mike Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Yes, but what's the story there? I eventually saw this 'blatantly offside goal' and, if anything, it looked ONside. What else were the allegations? research?
Jim D Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Mancs v Sheffield Wednesday 1993, 7 mins of unknown stoppage time added.......
Billy Dane Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Mike Riley in the penalty years at Old Trafford, corruption or simple incompetence?
Maldini Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I suppose you could count all those games being abandoned due to floodlight failures in the late 90's
psl Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Sweden and I think Denmark's 2-2 draw which knocked Italy out of the European Championships. That was funny.
Cobs Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 W. Germany v Austria @ Espana 82 to shaft the Algerians
Sion Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Sweden and I think Denmark's 2-2 draw which knocked Italy out of the European Championships. That was funny. I remember that http://www.iht.com/articles/2004/06/24/a20_14.php
stressederic Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Both the Italy and Spain games v South Korea in 2002. Dodgy as f***.
surf Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Sweden and I think Denmark's 2-2 draw which knocked Italy out of the European Championships. That was funny. http://youtube.com/watch?v=gw4Ls_Ab0yw&feature=related they only kicked it about in injury time though dutch commentator suggesting a very crafty scriptewriter to come up wiht that scenario
Ramón Benítez Hernández Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Sweden and I think Denmark's 2-2 draw which knocked Italy out of the European Championships. That was funny. It was funny, but it's got nothing to do with corruption. Both sides needed a draw to go through, while at the same time eliminating one of the stronger teams, Italy. It was funnier that Italy were the victims.
fyds Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 ...and apparently according to the Portugese FA, two games involving Porto during Mourinho's last season there.
John am Rhein Posted April 2, 2008 Author Posted April 2, 2008 Argentina v Peru, 1978 World Cup. and the Brazil-poland game earlier that day
John am Rhein Posted April 2, 2008 Author Posted April 2, 2008 scoring directly from an indirect FK and the ref admitting years later to a bung Was the bung in that particular game, though? I know he was found to have taken bribes, but I understood that was in a different match or matches (?)
John am Rhein Posted April 2, 2008 Author Posted April 2, 2008 Ermm 1965 the semi in Milan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnvaLs53sII Our keeper's f*cked right up there... And a few having a Mascherano moment, too. Can anyone name them?
Andy @ Allerton Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 The First teams in England to be done for match fixing were Liverpool v Manchester United..
pipnasty Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Mancs v Sheffield Wednesday 1993, 7 mins of unknown stoppage time added....... I might be wrong here but I also seem to recall Steve Bruce reaching 21 points late on in the season and the FA overturning an automatic ban due to his 'previous good behaviour' even though he had always been a dirty b*****d.
Andy @ Allerton Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Mancs v Leicester City - 9 minutes of injury time played - until the Mancs scored and the ref blew 1 sec after kickoff
dorgie Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 The untold story of how a young David Beckham can be attending Tottenham's school of excellence one day, but signing forms for Manchester United the next. Allegedly.
