We should have adopted this approach with the Slot stay Slot go debate. Everyone would have had their say, the lovers or haters could have been appropriately identified, lauded or lambasted as required, the daily angst would have been contained, and we all could have got on with having a go at Gakpo...

The ‘ola’ is actually pronounced ‘ole’. Like how fans sometimes celebrate prolonged possession of the ball by their favourite team. 
 

The ‘Ira’ bit, weirdly, is pronounced as the individual letters in Basque, rather than a word.

So Iraola, is more like ‘I-R-A - OLE!’ with the second syllable said with a real flourish.
