This simply won’t happen. There’s a reason a certain sports channel that splashes yellow bitsies ramps up in popularity during the transfer window. Not to mention a presenter donning a yellow tie who made a name for himself on the back of it. We just can’t stay away from it all.
Cheesecake Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Plus we will all be here on deadline day to read a post telling us that the lights have been turned off at the training ground and the transfer bods have all left for the evening even though we still clearly need a centre back and a midfielder. 1

FakeNewsBear Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Nothing about transfers other than what’s been said and that Burnham is sniffing about the Bootle seat for a transfer from Manc Metro Mayor in to Parliament (I am on a self imposed exclusion from politics in the Swanny).
PaulMcC186 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Anderson would be better for us than Wharton if we're only signing one centre midfielder this summer.

He seems far more aggressive than Wharton. Wharton might be great if we bought someone who's defensively better than Gravenberch, but it seems doubtful seeing Gravenberch signed a new deal, probably worth 200 grand a week.

Yeah and I don’t see how you play Wharton and Wirtz unless the latter is out wide. Leaves the middle wide open.

MarkD Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago 20 hours ago, Swipe said: Need a @FakeNewsBear and/or @MarkD transfer dopamine hit. Even if Slot remaining would take the shine off anything we do for me. Wharton, Fernandez, Dani Alves. Anyone. Sorry Swipe, little at the moment other than we have looked at/are looking at Alex Scott from Bournemouth as a possible alternative to Wharton. He is not a defensive midfielder, has had a few knee injuries but technically adept and a good box to box player. Also has Saturdays free after the demise of Football Focus.

Not sure what level he can get to but any time I watch him he’s impressive
Cobs Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I’d be buying Tonali if a CM is what we’re after. Not sure Newcastle will be up for dealing with us any time soon though 1
stacka Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago What about João Gomez wolves going down could be a good option for defensive midfielder

He's much better than Wharton Wharton and Gordon. Two players who are not an upgrade on what we have currently. Anderson and Olise. Two players who improve us immediately. Morgan Rogers also. Swipe Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I think if Gordon goes it means they don't need to sell Tonali. Although he obviously looked like he was starting to agitate a few months back. Anderson is a different type of midfielder than Wharton. No real point comparing them. If we're looking at Wharton and Scott then I reckon that's as a replacement for Macca. We'd still need a more robust athletic type in too, though. If Macca and Jones go and we only bring in one then we're f***ed.

Maldini Posted 52 minutes ago Posted 52 minutes ago I understand why there are doubts about Gordon but I think he's exactly what this side needs. A narky little prick who never stops running, gets on his teammates cases and can advance the ball up the pitch. I think we have a tendency to underestimate players from other PL teams, loads thought Mané was a big risk at the time. 1

Lacks discipline, is ugly, has spent long swathes of the PL season not scoring or assisting, is a horrible diver I could forgive one or two of those if he was ours, but unless there's a release, it would be a battle to get him from that club in particular.

Absolutely I hope we get him or someone similar in plus another pacey wide player. More of a priority than the midfield

Scott would make sense if we need two, if Curtis and Macca both go Hard to believe just how much we seem to need to do to the squad
