New York Red Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/tragic-rugby-star-joost-van-9806919 Clearly he was a fan and his boy clearly has some great priorities. You never see things like this about other teams (well, I don't think so anyway). Just another indication of how truly special we are.
The Hitman Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Poor little lad.His Dad was a great player.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 (edited) It doesn't sit easy with me this one, LFC just so happens to mentioned in this letter, could be anytime or anything. A young lad lost his Dad, that's all I see but LFC groups are sharing it around social media for clicks. Edited February 13, 2017 by Rory Fitzgerald
Zoob Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 It doesn't sit easy with me this one, LFC just so happens to mentioned in this letter, could be anytime or anything. A young lad lost his Dad, that's all I see but LFC groups are sharing it around social media for clicks. Yeah, feel the same.
Ed the Wool Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Be nice to get him and his family over for a game if the club could sort something.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Be nice to get him and his family over for a game if the club could sort something. Yeah, that would be nice. Liverpool play Burnley on Sunday March 12th at Anfield which is a day after England play Scotland at Twickeham......the fixtures dovetail nicely if they wanted to co-ordinate something.
Kop_on Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Yeah, that would be nice. Liverpool play Burnley on Sunday March 12th at Anfield which is a day after England play Scotland at Twickeham......the fixtures dovetail nicely if they wanted to co-ordinate something. That's assuming Lincoln beat Burnley. If Burnley win, they've a cup quarter final that weekend. I know as I've tickets for that game
Leo No.8 Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 So sad - brought a tear that letter. RIP. The fact that it's Liverpool doesn't matter, but if the club could do something nice for the little lad to help cheer him up a bit, then that would be a good result.
New York Red Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 I love that we were a special link between a legend like that and his poor son. We need to embrace people like this. We are special. We should do something special.
New York Red Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 Got a bit of a response from the club. Let's see what happens.
Hassony Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 No idea who this person isWhen i saw the name of the post, i was thinking a European composer
RP Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Don't let your ignorance of a great person stop you celebrating his achievements. It's kind of how I feel clicking into the music threads on here. Embrace it.
whitewidow Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Best scrum half I have had the honour of seeing play
bsl Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Not sure how this proves anything at all about LFC fans. Seems a bit distasteful for someone to attempt to bask in some imagined reflected glory from it.
Falconhoof Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Not sure how this proves anything at all about LFC fans. Seems a bit distasteful for someone to attempt to bask in some imagined reflected glory from it. some of the fans of any big club would get involved in reflecting, it just happens to be our club, so who cares. Nobody connected to the deceased will be offended.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 No idea who this person is When i saw the name of the post, i was thinking a European composer Don't let your ignorance of a great person stop you celebrating his achievements. It's kind of how I feel clicking into the music threads on here. Embrace it. Yeah - I know f all about Rugby but that's still a moving letter. Poor little kid
