David Hodgson Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 This needs to be a thread. I'll start us off : injury scares on Torres, Kuyt and Agger and not a ball kicked in anger yet. FFS.

David Hodgson Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 Torres is OK apparently. Yeah, but in a 'now he'll definitely get played when not 100% and make a minor injury into a major one' kinda way.
Gunga Din Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 i actually think it might be a good thing for Agger to play for Denmark
Boca Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 i actually think it might be a good thing for Agger to play for Denmark Yeah he could do with a couple of matches.
David Hodgson Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 i actually think it might be a good thing for Agger to play for Denmark Agreed, as long as he's not carrying something that could get aggravated.
Rich Gobey Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Agreed, as long as he's not carrying something that could get aggravated. Like he will be when he's playing alongside Carragher...

Red Kent Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Seriously worried that Torres will come back injured and miss a few weeks
Falconhoof Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 i actually think it might be a good thing for Agger to play for Denmark Yes, I think so. He needs to come through a few games and get the worry out of the way before he can play properly. It could be good for us that he's getting a good competitive run out without us having the risk of him not being quite match sharp enough.

Looks like he won the peno which Sean William Scott converted, as well. What was with all those red cards, waay too soft.
Will Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Apart from the 2 Hungarians and Martin Kelly, have any others of our boys been playing in the Under-20's World Cup?

Zoob Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Nemeth just got two crackers, winning goal with 3 imutes to go, in the quater finals U20 finals, in a good game were they beat Italy 3-2 AET, four red cards also. The more goals I see him score, the more he reminds me of Fowler. Not saying he'll be anywhere near as good, but he just seems to finish incredibly naturally, with both left and right feet. Makes scoring goals look easy. Pity he doesn't have a bit more pace, but he looks intelligent in the runs he makes, and has good close control too.
_00_deathscar Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 He seemed to show okay pace on both occassions - he's not lightning quick, but I don't think he's any slower than say Kuyt. From the few games he's played for AEK (and for the reserves and for us in pre-season), he seems to have a really good understanding of where his team mates are - great link up play.
muleskinner Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Steven Gerrard first on the list then. Fantastic.
Gomez Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 (edited) Gerrard off at HT, apparently due to injury! (Radio 5)He was clattered by a terrible tackle just before half time. Pleat reckons he went off at HT, talking to a physio rubbing his leg, but then Pleat is a kerb-crawling be11end, so it's swings and roundabouts. Edited October 10, 2009 by Gomez
Swipe Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 From Beeb website: 1820: A change at half-time for England. James Milner is on for Steven Gerrard, who must have picked up an injury.
CarraLegend Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 The sooner international football is scrapped the better. Sadly theres to much money for that to ever happen. Its f***ing s****.
Dan Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 If it was a knock it might not be too bad, if its his groin again its not so good. Pointless f*ckin exercise.
fyds Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 It's an ankle knock according to the live stream.
Earl Hafler Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Gerrard off at HT, apparently due to injury! (Radio 5)He was clattered by a terrible tackle just before half time. Pleat reckons he went off at HT, talking to a physio rubbing his leg, but then Pleat is a kerb-crawling be11end, so it's swings and roundabouts. It looked inocuous. Ukranian stayed on his feet, barely touched him and Gerrard flung himself to the ground. Obviously bad injuries have happened before after " nothing " tackles but let's hope this isn't one of them
