  1. No friggin way did 'most of the fanbase' want Hodgson as manager, which you seem to be implying - forgive me if I've misread that. And whilst those 'responsible for checking his suitability' got it badly wrong, anyone who thought Hodgson in any way would be an improvement on Rafa got everything they deserved. In my opinion, obviously.
  2. It was actually 7 nov 2010 when we beat Chelsea after wins against Blackburn and Bolton. Carry on.
  3. This content is not viewable to guests.
  4. It may be the least of the issues, but for me it's still a big one. What did Shankly's quote refer to? The holy trinity of players, manager and fans wasn't it? I think - at Liverpool at least - it's difficult if not impossible for the club to be successful without all three being in harmony. There's no chance of that with Hodgson, and consequently there's no chance of him winning consistently. I think something would have needed to happen with his relationship with the fans - probably requiring a massive attitude shift on his part - before it even became possible for us to start winning consistently with him in charge.
  5. Yes. It's not just results that's the problem. He obviously doesn't get what we as fans and as a club are all about. The fact that he could probably increase his popularity ten fold just by not speaking in public anymore says it all for me.
  6. The fans will eventually vote with their feet. It happened at the end under Houllier when we were getting thousands under capacity for some mid week games and it will happen to Hodgson. Maybe not quickly enough for some but he won't be here next season, I'm certain.
  7. Phone found and returned - thanks to Joe from Kirkby. Restored my faith...
  8. To cap a miserable visit to the Britannia I also lost my iphone in the stands. I was on row 29 seat 949, so if anyone has found it I am willing to pay a finders fee to get it back. Reply to this post or call me on 01260 280655 if you have it. Thanking you in anticipation! Les Jackson
  9. Not quite European Champions - we were on our way to Athens - but your points still stands . In fact, given two Euro finals in three seasons, is even more valid I guess!
  10. Not FACT. Lost to non league Worcester City in the FA Cup in 1959.
  11. We've never finished outside the top 8 since we were promoted in 1962. An awesome record. It's early days yet, but I could see us falling below that this season. That would signal the end of an era for me.

You called it! Presumably, his attempting to sell the club is just a sham then? Tony Barrett said today that RBS are getting increasingly frustrated with how the sales process is going. Maybe that's why.
  13. I don't think he has rendered it ALL obsolete. He's just raising a flag that Hick's involvement may not be as clear cut or extensive as we'd like to think (for example,Hicks was only one of a number of 'partners' involved in his 'group', and the 'group' didn't even have a controlling interest in Corinthians - if the info on RAWK is correct). Simple message is to proceed with care as far as the Corinthian's link is concerned.
  14. One of the mods (Alan F) on RAWK has done a bit of digging and Hicks involvement in Corinthians plight may not be as much as first thought. See following link Corinthians - What's the real story?
  15. It appears that Hicks involvement with Corinthians has been exaggerated and over-hyped (there's a good thread on RAWK about it). Might be shooting ourselves in the foot by dragging up that connection. Like the idea of the black scarves though - maybe with stars and stripes to accentuate the American connection?
