Great idea.  I hadn't realised it was unfurled again for the Bayern Munich game.  I was on the Kop that night and must have seen the back of it without realising what it was.

Always loved the asymmetry of one FB - Neal - who was thoughtful and tactical, combining intelligently with the midfield and Dalglish; and one absolutely mad b*****d flying down the wing on the other side or launching into their winger. Was a great defender, and one you would look to if it got a bit rough out there. A true Red, RIP Joey lad.

I met him at The Crowne Plaza in Liverpool at a 1978 European Cup Winners reunion in 2003 that a mate got me into.

HE thanked US for speaking to him and asking for a photo because and I quote ”there are bigger and better players here we could’ve spoken to than him” also told us he didn’t know how much he was getting when signing, as he wasn’t arsed, he would’ve signed no matter what.

He was really funny and still humbled and privileged to have played for us all those years later…. RIP Joey.
