'agreement in principle' is right up there in journospeak with 'bracing to make/receive a bid' nonsense. Of course there's agreement: 'we agree to give you/receive money and we will/you have the player's registration in return'.

I'm in such a spiral that whomever our illustrious strategists look at I feel they are not up to snuff. Simply don't trust them given they're ridiculous recent history.
As others have said, spaffing our budget on a position we have semi reasonable options seems madness. When the likes of Sturridge or Lee Dixon can see our glaring weaknesses then why can't our hierarchy?
