I didn’t see their game v Leeds. I imagine they would have taken heart from last night.

Some of the things we sucked at seem easy to correct. We’ll need to. I prefer the points to complaining that Arsenal didn’t deserve what they got because they scored within three touches of a ref’s whistle.

Think most neutrals will be putting Arsenal as favourites for this given how the games have played out this weekend which is absolutely fine. Newcastle thought they were going to win last night as well.

Hopefully we have a proper right back and Mac is fit.

like to see a return to a midfield 3 of Sboz, MacA & Grav for this.

Wirtz, Ekitike and Salah front 3

I'd bring in Robbo for Kerkez, get either Bradley or Gomez fit enough for RB through the week and spend 45 minutes of the warm up kicking Konate up the a***.

Agree - but be surprised if either Bradley or Gomez will be fit enough to start there, so Szobo will probably be needed at RB again

Bradley did half an hour last night, looked bit rusty but I reckon he starts v Arsenal

He came on at 80 mins.

Macca being fit for this would be a massive help.

I'd be fine with Dom starting at RB again if Bradley/Gomez dont have enough in them to start, otherwise playing maybe a double 10 with Dom and Wirtz, with Hugo and Mo up top, or a variation of that in the front 3. That way we have a good option to bring off the bench against tired legs [Cody]

Set pieces, will be crucial as always vs them.

Whoever plays LB, will need help v Madueke.

Arsenal were lucky to get a win against a poor united team

We've not beaten a*** for a while,  about time we do

So he did 20mins, can we find another 10 from anywhere?

Yeah but we played on until 135 minutes or something

So he got 20+ then.

Yes. As I said, he came on at 80 mins

Which means I would be really surprised if he can go from that to being fit enough to start on Sunday.

He’s been out with a muscle injury and played very little in pre-season.

And their colossal transfer spend.

Big spending Arsenal reduced to set pieces to try to beat the reigning champions.

Might be a bit unlikely that he starts though

Yeah - sounds like he's only just back

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on team news: "Conor Bradley has trained all this week. [Alexis] Mac Allister has also started training again. I don't think we had any injuries [after Newcastle]/ Virgil [van Dijk] is also ok, that is the main thing."

This is obviously the answer.

Don't think Bradley and Mac A will be ready to start - and if so the starting XI will probably be the same as Newcastle.

I've only seen the quotes but Slot saying Ekitike has to do a lot more without the ball.

For context, he seems very happy with him....

Quote

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on Hugo Ekitike (who joined from Eintracht Frankfurt for £69m):

"He has made a big impact on our attacking, not just scoring goals but starting attacks. That is a bit more than last season. The most simple answer to what he can improve is his match fitness. So I expect him to do a lot more off the ball. But that is normal as he had to adjust to a different league and playing style. He also came a bit later in pre-season so has had to adapt to the intensity levels without the ball, they are the small steps to take."
