Rodrygo on the chopping block at Madrid.

He’d be the type we should go for if Diaz is off.

He's a weird player, scores more in Europe, than he does in La lIga, he's got a higher ceiling than Diaz, but he's not been very good this year.

Bringing in a Seventh-Day Adventist could slightly broaden our attack.

One shouldn’t try to self-perpetuate one’s own forum lore, it’s a little vulgar.

That is exactly the point my hot imaginary sister was making.

Playing the wrong side at Real cos of Vinicius, get him in and then down for some REAL communion in the WigWam and he’ll be fine.

Think Mane and Salah have kinda skewed what should be expected of wide players.

Diaz and Gakpos numbers are both very very good historically for premier league wide forwards.

Diaz and Gakpo have an absolutely great amount of goals and assists this season. Drop in a 25 goal forward like Dembele and all of a sudden everything looks different.

They have, but we should be striving for that level. Still think we were better off having three 9/10-10/10 forwards who were always available and unusually consistent than having Salah plus four or five 7/10s who're much more hit and miss.

Jota was a fantastic buy as a fourth-choice rotation option, but we went into this season with him as our first-choice No9, despite his history of injury and streakiness.

On Rodrygo, we tried to sign him from Santos but he didn't want to go at the time, so our transfer boffins clearly like the player.

Yeah the whole, we never cross your name off thing would be applicable here

There's been chat that we're gonna look for more of a winger rather than a traditional nine for Nunez replacement.

there’s a problem though:

“if we’ve ‘heard of him’ then we can’t sign him and expect him to become world class“

it’s exactly like doing a complex property deal when you’re an entrepreneurial as opposed to corporate outfit (ie not billionaires) - you want off-market opportunities not stuff that’s advertised with Mason Owen

Without having the foggiest idea what your analogy means, I think you’re bang on the money.

He's a weird player to assess, though, because he's been shunted around so much to accommodate and support others that it's hard to know what his true level is. As Benzo mentions, he's been mostly on the right and sometimes in the middle at Madrid due to Vinicius and others, but think he played mostly from the left at Santos.

He's one of those where, if our transfer people got him in, I'd be excited because I'd trust their judgment that he's perhaps been underutilised. But the simple assessment is he's playing second and third fiddle at Madrid and for a fairly mediocre Brazil because he's not as good as the other lads.
