Man City and Barca in particular have mastered the art of not allowing the type of goals we conceded yesterday by having players smart enough to position themselves well and foul tactically when all else fails. MAcAllister can do this but otherwise we just seem incredibly naive positionally and tactically

Something about focusing on coaching the players he has no doubt the owners- like those at mutd- have realised that our brand is strong enough to withstand not winning stuff. I think they will see more ‘value’ in buying the occasional high profile high priced star or star in the making than building a genuinely competitive squad

The corners/goal kick and throw in thing is weird- like goal line tech it basically just delivers a factual outcome very quickly. It would take a lot of stuff and nonsense out of the game. Clearly far too sensible to be ratified

We seem to just do the most obvious and the most bare minimum stuff theres no succession planning, no long term profiling, we just respond to the market eg we heard Barcola might be gettable so go all in on that. Where are the right backs, Salah replacements and centre mid options that we have been monitoring and cultivating for months and years? it’s really not smart by any measure as we end up paying over the odds and getting what is available rather than what we need

it’s what has meant la liga has no chance of being competitive and it ruined serie A for years
