The 'station wide boycott' consisted of no Talksport broadcaster/reporter tweeting for a few days & then only referring to Twitter as 'social media' rather than by name.

It was hardly placards & marches :D/>

Indeed, suspect there was also a commercial element for it too with the sportyapper thing, but thought it only fair to add in that there has been some evidence of duty of care to Collymore

A guy who used to work for him as his junior had become his boss - he had no respect for him, so he just refused to accept anything he said.

Looking back, it was all pretty f***ed up ... but very funny to watch it unfold at the time. The boss was way out of his depth and just didn't know what to do - hence the fella got away with it for what felt like several months. Think it was actually 'only' about 3 or 4 weeks (having checked with a mate yesterday who was also there at the time).

Was he picking up a cheque?

Never really knew - he claimed he was, as the guy who was trying to sack him never pushed everything up to 'Personnel' (that's how long ago it was!) and so he just carried on getting paid.

It'd be a bit of a coincidence though if he then left after 3 or 4 weeks, especially if that was around a payday.

But anyway ... that's Stan, that is.

He was approached about MOTD2, probably let it be known on twitter, people complained to the BBC, BBC denied he had been booked, Collymore insists he'd been approached, says BBC told him he was controversial so they are not committing, Collymore rejects being too controversial and says he expects to be on the show in due course
