this is what perfection looks like

Here are Xabi Alonso and Nagore Aranburu, courtesy of Vogue Spain. This is really how I imagine their daily lives are like – in love, being together, dressed perfectly and perfectly groomed, hanging out in parks and museums, Xabi cooking…

There’s not much else to say. Just feast your eyes on the perfectness.

Pictures from here. Side note: you know Xabi dresses well when the clothes they pick for him are basically his personal style already, unlike Iker some people. How can he be so perfect??? It’s impossible! To answer my own question, it is possible. Just take a look at the video below. You can actually feel how much in love they are, just observe at the way Xabi looks at Nagore.

I’m off to take a moment just to be jealous.

Here’s what’s said in the video.

Q: How do you stay in shape?

Nagore: I practice ballet, three hours a week [plus, genetics, obviously].

Xabi: I practice a bit of sports.

Nagore: I try to eat healthily…

Xabi: Eat normally…

Nagore: Play a bit of sports, and get some beauty treatments…

Xabi: Normal things.

Q: Say something to the readers.

Nagore: Thank you very much, and regards to everyone who reads Vogue and logs on to vogue.es. A kiss.

Xabi: I couldn’t have said it better.

and then from the Daily Hate

Xabi Alonso has paid a glowing tribute to Liverpool supporters and admits the time he spent at Anfield will always have a special place in his heart.

The Spain midfielder quit Merseyside for Real Madrid before the start of last season and has impressed as much in La Liga as he did in the Barclays Premier League.

But back in an environment where supporters are quick to wave white handkerchiefs of surrender in a show of dissent against the clubs they love, Alonso remembers a very different attitude from The Kop.

'To play for Liverpool is something very special,’ he told the Spanish editition of Vogue magazine.

‘There is a very intimate connection between the fans and players that doesn’t exist at other clubs.

‘Even in bad times, the stands do not whistle, instead they sing, “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.’

The 29-year-old’s wife Nagore has equally fond memories of her former home after making the life-changing decision to move when Alonso moved from Real Sociedad to Liverpool in 2004.

Nagore, who had their first child Jontxu on Merseyside in 2008 and has since added daughter Ane to the family, said: ‘It was the best move I made (coming to Liverpool).

‘The relationship went a step further. I had been working on a film production team (at the time), but I packed my bags and went.’

And while many WAGs worry that their partners will appear in lurid newspaper headlines, she has few fears about the man she married eight years ago.

‘I can’t complain,’ she said. ‘I am lucky - Xabi doesn’t go to parties. He spends all his free time with us. After a match or training, he comes straight home.’

Liverpool fans may wish he never left them and there is still a bond with his old club.

Alonso was a surprise visitor to Anfield when Liverpool beat Aston Villa 3-0 in December and, earlier this month, he sent new Reds boss Kenny Dalglish a good luck message via Twitter.

We miss you Xabi

A great player. Who put in a transfer request to get away and earn more money. He isn't so far removed from Michael Owen.

Good luck to Xabi and his wife.

totally agree and he was my fave player of the last 10 years

Or to return to his homeland (as he had previously said he would do), where his child could be raised in a Spanish background; where he could cement his place in his national team in a World Cup year? Plenty of stuff going on there, not just money, nor Rafa relations stuff.

How the hell can anyone compare Xabi Alonso to that Welsh midget t***?

They both left the club because other things were more important to them than LFC. In Xabis case his kids upbringing and more money, in Owens case Michael owen and England (hahahaha you little Welsh prick). Looking like the Mancs will win the prem and Owen won't play enough games to get a medal.

Owen , mcmananman (Gerrard to chelski) all at the club since an early age and local. That is who I expect loyty from.

With foreign players you cant fully expect it as there will always be the pull of going back home or the likes or real and barca. Whilst o never want to lose a player I accept it can and will happen

One had an agent permanently on "sabbatical" until his contract was nearly ran down that we had to sell him for peanuts. Another just wants to go back to his home country with his wives and kids. Owen's a c***, Xabi's class

Love the sexy man and his sexy woman

Nothing to do with him being hawked around Europe by his manager the previous summer so he could buy Gareth Barry.

Why does someone always have to score a point for Rafa? Do you really think it needed saying and for who's benefit?

Suspect putting in the transfer request was part of the negotiating on our part so that we didn't have to pay him a %. He was going anyway.

Quite astonishing isn't it.

Flight, hang your head in shame, terrible comparison, utter nonsense.

Utter b******s

If you genuinely believe he's motivated by money then we spent 5 years watching different players

spot on.

I don't remember missing a player so much. Most players we've sold in the past were replaced by someone of a similar standard. I don't think we'll ever replace Xabi.

His wife is stunning. They seem a perfect match for each other.

He said it was a major factor himself a number of times. The change in tax in this country sealed that deal. Didn't say I blamed him. Again, good luck to him and his wife.

The Owen comparison was ridiculous. In mitigation I posted it at 1.30am having just come in from the match and to say I'd had a skinful would have been putting it mildly.
