I don’t know when he became the main LFC writer on BBC, but Aadam Patel is shocking, writes like a 12 year old. Always tries to shoehorn random stats or tactical nous, that he clearly doesn’t understand. -

Saka made 2 deliberate fouls in the space of 30 seconds just the day before, no yellow for either. First after he lost the ball on edge of Leeds’box, preventing a break. Another when running back and knocking an attacker over to prevent him getting 5 yards of space and knocking a ball into the Arsenal box. Actually a 3rd deliberate foul a minute later, petulanty kicking at a defender when he got infront of him in the Leeds box. Biggest problem in the game is, if we’re being kind, refereeing inconsistency. If we’re calling it what it is, it’s clear favouritism to teams and players. -
Really? Who talks about other humans like that? Hate to hear how you’d describe someone who was actually obese, rather than a little larger than your average footballer.

If you’re Chambers or Nyoni, you have to be really up for this. Hopefully a handful of experienced players start too -
10’s create. He’s more box to box energy, never a 10 in a million years. I really should know better than to fight over a comb though.
-
Not in any game I saw. Different ideas of a 10, not surprising re Slot I guess. Remember Curtis playing there chasing games sometimes, Dom definitely one of two 8’s.
-
Grav was 6, Macca and Dom left and right 8’s. No number 10 with Slot. 100% agree the best I’ve seen him play is a sort of inside right.

Money and beards alone, cannot bring happiness Conrad.

Very true. Most of your mates and fellow champions leave and you’re suddenly surrounded by a rebuild project.

Started on the right Saturday. Ran more than most, useful squad player and bench option as you say. -
Never underestimate the power of alcohol, after watching grossly overpaid footballers play like they’ve been on a 3 day bender.
-
All fair. He probably wanted a player with more suitable 6/8 profile. Now he’s got to get Dom and Grav to play differently than their norm. Maybe he can do that.

Ali made a couple of great saves, not that hard to imagine. Actually felt like a defeat in many ways. -
Ipswich and Atletico he was always on the move, providing an option for whoever was on the ball. Yesterday he was mostly static and almost looking to not be played in. Probably a fitness, sharpness thing, looked sluggish too. One of the reasons Wirtz found himself having to play an easy sideways or backwards ball, nothing on infront. Weirdly Kirkez offered the most movement, and Flo played him in behind their fullback 3 or 4 times in the second half.
-
Yep, and some of those who did, most definitely aren’t. Few weeks til we see our best I think.

Struggling to recall any worse. Can’t believe how delighted I was to see Kirkez getting a workout from a trainer at half time. -

Fullbacks huge issue and are one big factor, no doubt. We won the league playing a 6 and two 8’s in midfield. We are now trying to play two 8’s and a 10. Until 2 lads figure out how to be good at being hybrid 6/8’s, the midfield is going to be as big a problem as FB. Alexis can do it if he’s up for it, yet to see it from the others. -
It’s clear we would benefit from having a left footed wide forward, but we haven’t got one. Best combo for me at the moment is Gakpo left, Barcola right. I don’t care if Barcola’s historically best on the left, he can clearly play better than anyone else on the right, whereas Gakpo and Rio don’t convince there at all, and can play well on the left.
-
Trying to play with a 10, two wide forwards, and a striker, without having quality midfielders and full backs is fantasy stuff. We can’t even abandon it and play 3 midfielders on the basis we’ve got so few of them to rotate. Really think Nyoni needs to be given a chance at this point. Any young left backs worth a go? There were at least 6 players worse than Wirtz yesterday. He didn’t play well, get on the ball enough, or make enough telling passes, but still created more opportunities than anyone else, and still the scapegoat. To suggest he’s s*** is just odd.
-
Just to be clear, abysmal, unimpressive, poor, and not much better, all equate to s***? Not that I agree with those descriptions. Appalling today mind.
-
Well you’ve said it right there, you old football sage you.
-
There are other sports and pastimes.
-
It wasn’t and he hasn’t. Incredibly poor today though.
-
Not every game he’s played in then, gotcha.
-
No movement ahead, no feed from behind. He must be loving it here.
