I do think we're a team in transition. Tactics have moved on - a lot depends on playing at least one and often two defensive midfielders. We don't have a single one at the club. That doesn't begin to justify keeping Slot on. He's not committed to the club, it's players or the city. He'll throw anyone except himself under the bus. He hasn't got any ability to develop creative players. His tactics are small time as are his substitutions and use of the squad. He's turned into a gobs***e who embodies the worst elements of Hodgson and Rodgers. It's only a matter of time before he has a go at Alder Hey. And to put the cherry on the cake it annoys me that he chooses to live in Manchester.

Watching it live VAR drew a line from the edge of the ball to the front edge of Wellbecks foot. It was clearly not parallel to the white line of the 6 yard box. The pictures released after the game didn't show this. Plain as day corruption. -
Match Topic Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League, 15th March @ 4:30pm

Haven't watched it back and could be wrong but I thought we were on top for the first hour and should have been 3 or 4 up. The players legs started going to let Spurs more and more into it and with the sub we fell apart. It takes some doing to make that Spurs team look good but we managed it. The players aren't playing for Slot, they're not fit enough and I'm worried some of the better players might fancy a move. Slot should have walked months ago. The danger is not just not getting CL it's losing the best players and finding it more difficult to recruit who we want. If we aren't going to play like a Klopp team we desperately need a proper no 6. Camavinga is the dream or possibly Elliot Anderson. I'm not sure I'd have given Grav a new contract and hope we're not paying him too much because I don't see him fitting in if we play a proper 6. Here's that defensive stats analysis again : -

Rio made a huge difference. Ridiculous management that he doesn't get any starts ahead of Gakpo. -

We've not played many worse halfs of football in the last 50 years. -
Owen scored 45 league goals total across all clubs over 9 seasons after leaving us aged 24. Famously never managed to get 20 league goals in a season. 13 for Madrid in his one season there. He can do one, the Manc c***.

On the other hand if it was down to Slot we would probably have bought 4 more Gakpos, a Poulsen and a Konchesky.

I suspect a lot of our injuries are down to fitness, conditioning and bursts of intensity. Of course he can be blamed for those things. I'd also say he hasn't got an ounce of leadership in him. Nor can he motivate. Given some of the stuff he comes out with in interviews I can't see the players being inspired.

Are all the injuries bad luck or are some of them down to rotation/lack of, training, conditioning ? Not saying it's Slots fault but could we have done better as a club to prepare the players ?

If Slot gets us down you can only imagine the confidence he does(n't) inspire in the players. -
According to Bayern Space on X: Florian Wirtz has told his father and agent, Hans-Joachim Wirtz, that while his relationship with Arne Slot remains very strong, the idea of reuniting with his sporting father, Xabi Alonso, genuinely excites him and is already being discussed within the squad. Their relationship remained intact after their respective departures from Leverkusen, with Alonso continuing to support Florian’s move to Liverpool by advising him on where to live, which areas to explore, and how to adapt off the pitch, keeping their communication close and ongoing. I can also reveal that at the beginning of the season, during a brief adjustment period marked by minor on-field difficulties, Xabi Alonso proactively reached out to Florian. There were direct exchanges between the two, including video material sent by Alonso, breaking down situations and outlining small positional and decision-making adjustments for Florian to implement. The channel between them has remained open, active, and highly personal, with Jeremie Frimpong, who is very close to Florian and his family, also fascinated by the idea of working with Alonso again. Florian has further told his father that he feels Arne Slot’s time may be running short due to recent results, though he remains cautious, aware that he does not yet fully understand the club’s internal structures and dynamics, and that Liverpool is not an institution known for throwing managers under the bus, even if things can change very quickly in modern football.

Palace said he was available for 40mil the entire summer. They didn't sell in the end for 35 because Glasner didn't have time to replace him. Not getting him in is a huge f*** up. He's at least as versatile as Gomez, if not more so, and better than him. We've clearly moved away from the classic 4 3 3; what to is probably dependent on who the next manager is, but whether it's a back 3 or 4 Guehi can play any position across the defence. Hughes made two massive screw ups in the summer - one was not paying the extra 5m to bring Guehi here and the other was signing Isak (not because he's not good enough, but because he's so injury prone). I could see Hughes being replaced in the summer.

I don't have a problem with their long time fanbase (apart from the entitled kids on t'interweb) it's their manager and their cheating on the pitch, which is obv an Arteta installed strategy because they pretty much all do it. They're the worst time wasting, divers in the Prem and that's saying something. Soon as you get a head of steam up you know one of them is going down holding his head. Martinelli was judging Bradders on his own actions and what he'd do. Loved it when we beat them this term and they couldn't just roll around on the floor, time wasting. Am I being racist or is this a Spanish thing that's pervaded the Prem ? The Italians used to be as bad, don't know if they still are. All said, I'd hate to see them win it under Arteta, but I'll be happy for their fans to see them win it once they have a manager that isn't part of Guardiolas cabal.

Form is out of the window. Let's beat these and knobble Zubimendi while we're at it. -
They're not our players so I'm not interested in them. It's obvious we've got a team full of world class players that Slot isn't getting anywhere near the best out of.
-
That's based on what Slot is getting out of them and how they are being deployed. Whatever went wrong with recruitment Slot is making a team full of world class players look mediocre and like they don't know each other.
-
I'll probably stick up for Hughes more than most but not signing him much sooner for the 40m they said the price was all summer was a massive f*** up by Hughes - the kind that costs you a season of progress. Do it a month earlier they'd have had time to sign a replacement and their manager couldn't have thrown a strop.
-
Xabi, Enrique or Ancelotti for me. Ancelotti is the best manager tactically we've played against, PSG last season were the best team I've seen us play and Xabi makes me swoon.

Edwards left in 2022 as did Mike Gordon of FSG. There was just Jürgen and Billy Hogan as CEO ( based in the US) 2022 - 2024.
