  1. I heard goals scored before the end of the first minute count double.
  2. It's beyond doubt authority over buying and selling belongs to Hughes. Given the circumstances around Edwards leaving the club and his relationship with Klopp he wouldn't return and appoint Hughes unless that were the case. The club overachieved under Jurgen with a squad that was a little overloaded with players that were good but not exceptional. Hopefully a slightly smaller squad means a higher calibre of players coming in who have the potential to grow into exceptional players. We're at the first stage of a rebuild of the playing staff, moving towards a big change in tactics and formation. This season is transitory. We have to be patient with new signings. We are where City were 12 months ago. Having said all of the above I'm not sure I trust Hughes. I think he'll be very effective but I don't think he 'gets us'.
  3. Was a big mistake by Slot to not keep Robbo as his number 1 from the start of the season and ease Kerkez in. I think the lad will come good though. This is an interesting clip from Adam Clery about the positions Nico O'Reilly took up in the Real Madrid game. O'Reilly is Citys young LB who seems to have a lot of similarities to Kerkez if the stat sites are to be believed. What's interesting is Kerkez has been taking up similar positions all season (and getting ignored, mostly by Gakpo). We're totally rebuilding the team and we're buying young. Kerkez and Wirtz, alongside Bradders, are 22. Ekitike, alongside Gravenberch, is 23. Frimpong and Isak have just turned 25. No wonder Virge is getting annoyed at some of them - he probably wants them to get off his lawn. Seriously though, he's probably a bit miffed that we're buying a team for the future rather than a team for right now.
  4. Pre Brighton presser Spoken to Mo. Playing tomorrow depends on outcome of that conversation. All he will say, anything else should be between him and Mo. Been lots of conversations between Mos representatives and the club representatives since Sunderland game.
  5. Absolutely. He said specifically he wasn't going to talk publicly about whether he or Mo should initiate contact. He tried to close down discussion of what would happen behind closed doors. Seedorf then pushed the opinion that Slot should initiate contact with Mo. Some people are jumping to conclusions that Slot said Mo should be the one to make contact but he didn't say that. In a separate interview straight after he specifically clarified that he didn't say that. He just said to Seedorf that's your opinion, shutting him down. I'm surprised any LFC supporters are saying they're disappointed in him. Listen, I don't want anyone trying to tell us or our manager how the club should carry out it's business, especially when it's a club legend of a team we've just beat. I don't want Duncan Ferguson doing it at Everton, I don't want Roy Keane trying it at the Mancs and Seedorf can do one.
  6. Happened on this from a month ago. Clearly Mo follows Cam and these words really got to him. Cam has caused this.
  7. Gakpo is ninth in the league for goals and assists, Mo is sixteenth. Gakpo helps defend, Mo doesn't. Opponents have consistently been targeting the space behind Mo. Of course Gakpo needs a slap for refusing to pass to Kerkez and should have been dropped a while ago.
  8. Carras a prick but Seedorf trying to give manager advice to Slot is like Neville trying to give Shanks or Bob advice. He managed four teams and was sacked within weeks from all of them.
  9. Agreed. But it means he's got f*** all to teach Slot about being an elite manager.
  10. Ironic that Seedorf was an absolute disaster as a manager. Currently working as an advisor in Iran.
  11. https://www.reddit.com/r/LiverpoolFC/s/5ch0uu5vtA
  12. Isak will thrive once Frimpong and Kerkez are bombing down the wings and putting balls in to him. It's many a year since we played a traditional centre forward and we're still often defaulting to how we've been playing for a decade.
  13. I read a week or two ago he's off to Real, then FNB said on here the other day that his agent has been speaking to them. He's playing like he's decided he's off. edit : I wondered why they'd been so upfront about not wanting Konate. Maybe they're being nice because they want to negotiate for Mac.
  14. Not sure if this link will work but apparently Slot plays the piano in his down time. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17LkeuS41w/
  15. Joe bursting through the middle in a 2 on 2 then giving up and pulling the ball back was bizarre.
  16. Agree with this but I think we desperately need a proper no 6, especially with Macs head in Madrid already. Unsure too how much more Virge has got in the tank. Kerkez spent a couple of months overlapping Gakpo only to be ignored. I've never once seen Gakpo pass to him down the wing. Easy to forget Kerkez is younger than Bradley btw (only 6 months). He'll come good.
  17. Still together. The one I split up with was 30 years ago.
  18. I talk to my ex missus and speak well of her. Doesn't mean we didn't fall out big time. They fell out at the side of the pitch when Mo was coming on as a sub. Jurgen says they sorted it out next day but journos claimed they were being briefed that if Klopp stayed Mo would leave. All the s*** Jurgen was dealing with and Mo was helping push him out of the club because he had the temerity to bench him. Mo has been our best player for many a year and it will be genuinely emotional to see him leave but no one is bigger than the club. For all that Carragher is a gobs***e and is bang out of order.
  19. You need to stop calling Case names mate. Seems like everyone has it in for him today.
  20. City clearly targeted him. It worked. Konate wasn't just responsible for Leeds first, he gave them their second as well.
  21. He did the same to Klopp remember. Fell out big time with Jurgen.
  22. If Ancelotti is out of the question after the World Cup Enrique would be a win. His PSG are the best side I've ever seen us face. Guardiola said the best teams he's ever faced were us under Jurgen and Enriques Barcelona.
  23. Tactics have changed significantly in the last 12-24 months. The 4 3 3 we were playing under Jurgen has been countered. Look at how City struggled last year and the restructuring Guardiola has done. Top teams are all playing 1 or 2 up front, 2 defensive midfielders and width from the back. Not to mention how the lower teams are finding new ways to pressure defences. Note I'm not claiming to be some tactics guru here. Lots of folks on the forum like Earl etc know more than me. This is just from googling around what tactics teams are playing so I may be talking rubbish. If it's true though we're half way through a rebuild of the team and a move to different tactics front to back. Slot is too inexperienced to navigate it but they won't want to bring in a new manager before the summer when Virge and Robbo will probably be off to pastures new and we rebuild the defence. Ideally they'll want to speak to a potential new manager before they identify targets. As an aside if we'd conceded 1 less goal in each game recently we'd be 8 points better off second in the table, 2 points behind Arsenal. It's consistently Konate and the defence letting us down.
