Following Johnson s displays for us, the doubts and questions raised by many, that Rafa overpiad for his services seem pretty futile now dont they?? In fact i gratify every cent of the whole 17mill we paid on him!

We have one of the best right full-backs in the world playing for us.

Arbeloa was no slouch, he was a very good player for us but johnson is miles ahead and is a massive improvement.

We just need a star left winger. A player who loves to take on defenders and beat them easily. I know we have very good players in riera and yossi on the left but they are ARBELOAS and we need a JOHNSON on the left.

I know many on here hate his guts but Robben fits the bill perfectly. 20 mill or less he ll be tearing down our left wings.

I wish people would think about Robben's games against us before banging on about him.

He pretended to be hurt and turned on the waterworks to get out of one of the noisier encounters.

I mean, ffs man, Robben is an out and out sh*thouse.

End of.

Yes, but he won't have to face us anymore would he? Keep him away from the derby, the other big 4, and a couple of the other games - let him wreak havoc in 20 games.

He'd actually be brilliant coming on...tired legs against Robben's pace? Or we could start him and bring Benayoun on. He could even play from the right in Kuyt's place, and have Riera hold the line on the left as Johnson bombs past Robben on the right.

That sounds like the kind of thing Rafa would do.

Blirt 20million on a player for the last fifteen against Birmingham, send him on his hollibobs for the derby.

on form at the moment Benayoun deserves his place in the team not on the bench

I didn't suggest spunking 20mil on him though!

Agreed.

World class and probably surplus to requirements at Madrid, no matter how well he plays, Ronaldo will most likely always get picked over him.

One of those players who you think is a massive **** unless he actually plays for you.

If we have 20m, get 10-12m for Babel & voronin, perhaps we could off madrid 30 for Robben + Negredo/Higuain. I'd be very happy then!

I think he is class but these threads are a little premature.

Bit like me when he did that scissor kick for his goal last night. Shot me load big time.

He's worth all the praise he is getting.

Robben would be more than welcome, he's absolutely brilliant although very much injury prone.

There's no way we should turn our backs against world class talent like him due to an incident in a match 5 or so years ago.

1) I don't really want a diving c**t on my team, no matter what happend in the past. I know our players do dive sometimes as every footballer does, but I hate the idea of winning the league or a tight game just 'cos one of our players did something unfair

2) At the moment I don't think you should call Benayoun a "ARBELOA". He's been brilliant since the Real Madrid games and hasn't really decreased his impact since then.

I think Robben is the type of player (skill and natural position) we need which would nicely finish up our summer spending and give us a lot of different options (different formations & personnel on the left, like Riera, Benny, Robben-type player, or babel, dependant on the opposition).

However, it wouldnt necesasarily have to be him, but that type of player (an option we currently dont have ) that we need. It could be Robben, Silva, Young, Lavezzi or even Ronaldinho. The type of player that can cause havoc and unlock tight defenses attacking at pace off the wing.

I'm always stunned by this attitude. Any plausible occurance where we end up winning the league is worth loving.

I'd probably prefer it.

It'd be brilliant for Robben to dive at OT outside the box, get the penalty, we score and the ref blows FT. We win the league. Amazing. Their heads would explode.

yeah, he is the sort of skillfull, little, ugly fella we have missed since Beardsley

1) As long as he sacrifices himself for the team, like every other lfc player, he can dive all he wants for all i care...

2) i think you forgot ARBELOA s performances in an LFC shirt. they were so good he became a regular for Spain and was bought by Real Madrid. Arby is a very good player but Johnson is world class. we need that world class player on the left wing. player able to take on defenders and our clear-cut chances would largely increase. Yossi is a very good player.

the only worry is, will we get 50 games from him like that? We will miss him a lot if he gets injured or suspended.

quality signing, young, english, hungry and a fan.

With Insua on the left, we may actually be sorted at full back for the next 8 years.

Arbeloa was never a regular for Spain.

he first cap came in 2008. since then he played 10 times for spain...
