Liverpool FC vs Stoke City - Tues 27 Dec 5.15pm
NeilR replied to Sir Tokyo Sexwale 's topic in Liverpool FC
It's the football version of rope a dope. Everton tried it too. They can't sustain it if they haven't had the prep we've had. -
Might make lucas moura available.

Surely the difference is he hasnt been playing for his country for an extended period of time of his own will, so why would they expect him to suddenly change that decision.

We're going to challenge for a position in the league in <insert season>

It's only a 3 point gap we need to make up on Chelsea coz we will tear them apart at Anfield! -
Southampton FC vs Liverpool FC 1500 19th Nov 2016
NeilR replied to Ombudsam 's topic in Liverpool FC
Apparently they didn't plan to sit back so much. Puel and one of their players (cant remember who it was) said so after the match, and that it was a result of us pinning them back so much rather than a deliberate plan. -
Swansea City vs Liverpool. Saturday, 1 October, 12:30
NeilR replied to Falconhoof 's topic in Liverpool FC
It was strange to see Sky didnt put a line across the replays for the offside (at both points) or use another camera angle to see if Lovren or the Swansea player touched it. -

To be honest I'd say both Spurs and City have looked impressive too to be fair. But the 3 of us do look better than the next down which is Arsenal who have played a few get out of jail cards already. However, we do have an advantage with not being in Europe and I'd hope once the champions league pushes on it'll take its toll on Spurs and City and we will reap the benefit of it. I'm fully enjoying us looking like we can be anyone AND bringing consistency with it too. -

it's why the Di sciglio links would make sense. -

Would be great if we can get Dahoud. Its easy to see how he fits into a Klopp midfield 2 alongside Can. Although that transfer looks very difficult now. Viable young (as it seems to be our preference) alternatives could be Navas, Geis, Tielemans, Kovacic, or Holjberg. I dont see any of our current midfielders ideally suited for that role of the deeper midfielder able to control the game, clearly obviously lacking in our Europe final. Thats why I think we will see more than one of Allen, Lucas, Stewart, Henderson, and Milner leaving (probably the former 2, but the latter two might not be happy with the squad role). I dont think Zeilinski is suited for this role either, so it maybe him plus another midfielder if we bring him in. Then its onto the glaringly obvious left back role. Moreno needs upgrading. Im not convinced Chillwell or Robertson are the answers. The Hector links seem more of wishful thinking rather than of any substance (hope I'm wrong). I'd prefer Amavi or Gaya if we were looking at young players, or the more experienced Rodriguez. If we address those 2 positions accordingly, I'd be happy with what we have done this summer (and the deals lined up last January). -

We'd be better going for Amavi if the idea is to get a young LB for in or around £10m or less. Has more PL experience than Chilwell and Robertson even though his season was cut short by injury. I know Villa were dire last year but he looked promising whenever I saw him. Not the finished article but definite potential (which is Supposedly what we are looking to work with under Klopp for a LB). -

I always wonder why Lennox Lewis commentates on our games for BT Sport
