The BBC reckoned it was Obafemi Martins' 24th birthday yesterday.

24!!!!!! :o

He's got to be well older than that surely?

Bloody hell what a great goal for Bentley at The Emirates

35-40 yards out, caught keeper off his line, Alonsoesque

13 min: AN ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC GOAL BY FORMER ARSENAL MAN DAVID BENTLEY. THIS IS GOAL OF THE SEASON, RIGHT HERE. Arsenal 0-1 Tottenham. This is outstanding. The ball bounces around the centre of the Arsenal half for a few seconds. Then Jenas knocks it to Bentley, who volleys the ball a few centimeters into the air, then volleys it again, 40 yards this time, sending a looping shot screaming over the stranded Almunia - who couldn't have been expected to expect that. That's Matthew Le Tissier multiplied by Xabi Alonso, squared, on the end of a stick.

I'm sure I used to watch him play for Milan about 6 or 7 years ago on C4 on a sunday morning. He looked about 28 then. There was no way he was 16. No way.

Jamie Redknapp referred to David Bentley as a "genius" last night, did you ever hear such indulgent s*ite.

Think he described the goal as genius to Alan Smith, something like 'its genius Alan isn't it?'.

Arsenal yesterday didn't have a midfielder over 21 yesterday, and it showed. 90 minutes almost up, two goal lead, and rather than concentrating on keeping the ball, they look for another goal. Having then conceded, which should definitely have been the signal to keep the ball, play into the corner, they show they haven't learnt their lesson - and lose the ball again trying to get a fifth. I really can't see any of the other top four being so foolish, and that's why I think Arsenal will continue to fall short.

I can see what Wenger is trying to achieve - he's trying to build up the team in the same way that Ferguson first did - a batch of kids growing up together. The question is, will he be able to keep them together long enough to achieve that without them getting impatient and moving on?
