Interesting to see that his "That's Football" channel has just got the rights to live Bundesliga streaming rights:

"The Bundesliga has become the first major European football league to award part of its live broadcasting rights in the United Kingdom to a content creator, with That's Football — a channel hosted by the online personality Mark Goldbridge — to show matches this season. The new agreement is due to be announced today and is expected to be in place for the Bundesliga’s first round of games this weekend, starting with Friday night’s clash between defending champions Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig at Allianz Arena."

Has he given up on supporting the mancs and switched to Bayern now then?

He's an odd one.. he grew supporting Forest apparently, but his 'Mark Goldbridge' character supports the Mancs, so who knows.
I know he's raking in about £4m a year from YouTube, so fair play to him.. at least he's producing actual content instead of the 'Skibidi Brainrot' stuff my lad's mate seem to watch. 😁

How and why did that happen? Surely there's a lot more money to be made from selling that to Sky or Amazon?

It's possible that it's not just about money (in the short term), but views. Channels like his get millions of views and it'll be even more if it's showing footy that was previously paywalled. Every one is a potential new 'consumer' of Bundesliga, which might bring in more money in the long term via the exposure.

Looks like Sky are also showing a bunch of games. BBC are also showing a bunch free-to-air. I assume this is on top of that. The BBC are showing the Bayern Munich vs RB Leipzig game for example.

Madly, Goldbridge is one of the most sensible voices on the internet when it comes to footy. He's absolutely nailed the Isak thing from day one.

Absolutely. I'd much rather watch him than any idiot the BBC employ.

Yeah, he's actually become quite good now. His daily That's Football show is better than most of the tripe Sky produce

He is very good. He’s grown from someone to giggle at when the mancs loose ( maybe it was a character amped up for hits) to someone who’s got genuine good takes and can give unbiased opinions on football.

Still can't get my head round him actually being called Brent DiCesare. Isn't that exactly the kind of name someone called Mark Goldbridge would change their name to.

"Online personality". Sigh.

Fans of the wireless in the 1950s used to sigh at the term "television personality".

He was an actual detective in a former incarnation

Hahaha, Brent DiCesare even sounds like a name in a bad detective show.

Is it possible that this is some kind of witness protection thing? "From now on, you'll just be plain old Mark Goldbridge"

If you knew you had been tracked down and nicked by Brent DiCesare and he walked into the interview room, you’d want your money back.

be like ‘nah I was going to come quietly and sing like a lark but yous lot are taking the piss, I tell you who was the mastermind, it was Chalfont Don Esteban and he’s five foot two and comes from Northampton’

He has stated that he created the alias when he started his YouTube career. This alias was used at the request of his employers during his job as a police officer investigating financial fraud.[Wiki]

You can tell he's not a Man Utd fan because he always speaks well of Liverpool before remembering and throwing in a 'obviously I hate them all' here and there.

I'm baffled as to what you all find interesting about this fella. Is there some wit or smart analysis that I haven't come across in the clips I've seen.

I think that‘s slightly unfair, he has genuinely spoken well (ie, not a partisan lunatic) on loads of issues that affect us but also the wider football industry. He is obviously a bright bloke.

The issue is that the other side of his internet persona (and the one that garnered his massive following) is that of a Partidgian prat, live-streaming over the top reactions to United games.

He also made some pretty dicey comments about Mason Greenwood I seem to recall, but generally speaking, he isn’t a complete moron.

Maybe I didn't word my question very well.

I should have said something like 'i have only seen the clips where he's being a Partidgian prat, live-streaming over the top reactions to United games. Tell me what else he does that's interesting '

But I guess I could just stop being a dick and watch for myself.

Trouble is his face and his voice put me off a bit. He seem a bit Partridge.

He has overcome the embarrassment of talking live to camera about a topic millions of people enjoy so good luck to him I guess.
